Da Phenomena is a new, uncompromising boy duo. Uncompromising because these two boys, known as Da Phenomena, have been professional musicians for many years and have managed to avoid the artificial hatcheries of numerous wannabes – “Pop starsâ€, “Idolâ€, “Be a star†workshops. They have created themselves by playing in studios, through their studies, the street and the stage. They have been professionals since their teens (Mate since he was 15, Dagi since 14). Mate – vocals and guitar. Dagi – bass guitar and vocals. Mate, the bright and the strict one. Dagi, the dark and the soft one. Mate, an undergraduate soon to acquire his degree at the Graz Jazz Academy. Dagi, a self-taught musician, who grabs hold of the bass in the fifth grade of primary school and, driven by a hunger for music, replaces school with the stage. “Fatal loveâ€, as they unanimously say (whatever that means), happens in the band of Tinkara Kovac. They pick up each other’s scent in next to no time and foresee that together they will “move the worldâ€. They perform with the leading names of the Slovenian music scene until they identify themselves with Magnifico’s Turbolentza. It is with this crew that they travel around Slovenia, Italy and the former Yugoslav countries, while they experience “the high and the low†of the Eurosong contest in Tallinn with the Slovenian representatives, Sestre.

For the last year, when they have not been performing or travelling, they have been hanging out, thinking and creating music and lyrics. At the beginning of the year, they shut themselves in a studio with the producer Iztok Turk, where they played all the instruments and sang the lead and backing vocals. The result of their work is a new record, which does not have a name yet, and their first single, which has one – “Nocem te nazaj†(I Don’t Want You Back). At every attempt label their music, no matter how innocent it might appear, they just sigh and roll their eyes, saying “we have created music that we ourselves would like to listen to...â€
