STAMINA

Stamina defines endurance in a mental and physical form. Having endured so much at a young age molded him into not just an artist but the person he is today. Born in Los Angeles in 1985 Stamina consumed all that his city proffered. Music was always in his genes his parents were heavily into music and his brother had discovered Hip Hop. On a daily basis music was involved I remember when I was 5 my brother would make me memorize the lyrics of a popular hip hop song and explain what they meant Stamina recalls his brother getting mad when he was mistaken and took the message of the song out of context. Stamina recognized the fact that being wrong would upset his older brother so he began to take heed more on lyrics than the actual beat.Stamina was always a fan of music in general but Hip Hop was always his favorite, the genre he felt closest to. Remaining only a fan would changed when a family tragedy occurred I was 14 when my father my idol and best friend passed away, he had been suffering from a renal disease and had dialysis for 4 years and that caused other bodily functions to give in and he suffered a cardiac arrest while having dialysis Stamina lamentably recalls I was there when he passed right next to him when he flat lined I didnt cry because I knew his legacy would live through me, he always told me that Due to the circumstances Stamina fell into deep depression in which he wouldnt vent out his feelings to anyone. Fortunately his high school offered a counseling program in which he was advised to write down his thoughts and emotions he did so and that begun his journey. Starting from scratch and penciling down his anger and pain; mixed feelings aligned with his love for the art form of Hip Hop. At 16 Stamina recorded his first song entitled Unsigned Letter which was an ode to his father from then on it has become his outlet. When asked what distinguishes him from the rest Stamina sternly answered This art form isnt a hobby to me its my reality I can honestly say that this saved my life and lord knows how many people are in the shoes I was in 6 years ago, my objective is to relay a message and entertain those who need the enlightenment in their lives. My fathers last words to me were THINGS HAPPEN FOR A REASON every time Im in the studio or on stage I remember those words and I know there is a reason to why I was blessed with this gift. Stamina has wrapped up production on his Ep entitled Tha Epitome and is in the midst of releasing it independently and has begun working on his album Live Since85 which will feature legendary hip hop artists .
