BIOGRAPHY
royalXVI, a production duo formed in mid 2004, is the soul behind the blues, the rebel behind the rock, and the bubble gum in the pop. Starting from Project Blowed, an underground hip-hop movement in Los Angeles, royalXVI's sound has been featured in works with artists such as Michelle Williams, Flo-Rida, and upcoming pop-boyband Varsity.
"These guys have a sound that's completely different and refreshing, especially in an over-saturated industry, where everything sounds the same." -Carlos Hudgins, EMImusic Publishing
In addition to artists, royalXVI has transceded the role of normal producers, crossing over into collaborations with fashion and art industries, and ultimately defining a lifestyle. For the launch of Marc Jacobs "Stinky Rat" clothing line, royalXVI provided the background and soul on the first edition of the Marc Jacobs x Mixtape.
royalXVI is currently working with numerous artists, to host the Atwater Village ARTHOUSE fair, an event to give up and coming artists the chance to display their artwork in a public showcase @ one of Los Angeles's most acclaimed galleries.
With spots in numerous additional outlets, royalXVI has partnered with BEATDOWNCREW ENTERTAINMENT GROUP, to create a media service company, providing songs/tracks for television, film, video game companies, and ad agencies. From Activision title Tony Hawk Downhill Jam to special features on ALLHIPHOP.COM & HIPHOPGAME.COM, their body of work continues to grow.
royalXVI have been grinding away in the lab with premiere writers Rico Love, Dawn from Danity Kane, The Underdogs, to mega-producer Rob Lewis. Stay posted!
