Elaborate does not necessarily mean more fun. Sitting back and having a beer with your dad while watching it rain is nice. Then again, crazy can be fun...going to a 36 hour rave in Puerto Vallarta, watching a friend trip off LSD, and see that friend sit on the ground to watch his clothes dry can be entertaining. Being able to make fun a trip to the ER with your friends after a couple broken ribs is admirable and rare; being able to stop the joking and respectfully internalize other people’s suffering is human yet, also rare.
Whether you like or dislike a person, it doesn’t really matter. Either way you can learn something, you can learn to love something. From understanding what we dislike, more clear it becomes what we like, and more easily can we keep from becoming something we do not want to be. See? Even not liking something can be good.
