What Is Rotten Specimen?
In Definition:
Rotten(n): nonsense: irrelevant or ridiculous talk (informal).
Specimen(n): something that is representative because it is typical of its kind or of a whole, especially something that serves as an example (often used before a noun)
To The Band:
Rotten(n): Disgusting and ridiculous to human, but to specimens viewed as a good thing meaning we are bad in their eyes so we are good in ours.
Specimen(n): A unique individual not pertaining to the normal human race and views.
Band Bio
Rotten Specimen Is a original band formed in 2007 created by the creative mind of Benny Rott. At and early age Benny Rott has created many Punk/Thrash/Metal musical ideas influenced by his father (Benny Rotten of Especimen). Rotten Specimen has always had complications in finding dedicated, creative and similar ideas as Benny Rott, in musicians. So Rotten Specimen starting out was Benny Rott Mixing, composing, recording, creating unique lyrics in his native tongue solo. Four tracks were then created and recorded by Benny Rott in attempt to find musicians and show the community that a serious metal composer existed and alone he was great but he wanted someone to share his ideas and create. Benny knew that without other musicians Rotten Specimen would never present itself solo. In November 2007, Benny met up with a very special musician (who surprisingly was a girl) Jessica Rizzo (bass player). Benny always told himself that he would never have a girl as a musician in Rotten Specimen, but he decided to give her a chance because he saw a spark in this girl. Benny accepted her once he heard her play, although she could not understand the language the music was in. At the time Rotten Specimen had Spanish tracks, but it all changed once Benny Rott got inspired by Jessica Rizz and read her English lyrics. He then decided to team up with Jessica and recorded the first English track ever distributed by Rotten Specimen (Welcome To Unconsciousness). Once “Welcome” became well known he decided to stick with the English language and then recorded the most recent and second English track (Disintegrating World) which was also a success. One special song has yet to be recorded and translated into English but is a very symbolic and important song to Benny Rott (Manipulacion De La Religion) and in English meaning “Manipulation of Religion.” It will be one of the only old demos to be translated and spared within Rotten Specimen. Rotten Specimen has made a decision to stop producing Spanish tracks and progress in composing in English and in the United States. Benny Rott and Jessica Rizz are always in the process of creating and recording new English tracks with symbolic lyrics that talk about worldwide issues such as War, unconsciousness in humans, and topics afraid to be discusses by normal humans. As Specimens they develop their own unconscious mind parallel to that of the others helping them and inspiring them to create such meaningful music. This and more is yet to come. Rotten Specimen currently is Benny Rott (vocals/lead guitar/songwriter) and Jessica Rizz (bass/songwriter). There is still a drummer yet to join.
Rotten Specimen plans to present themselves and perform in late 2008.
