Brownrane is one of the most phenomenal Singer /Songwriter/ Musician/ Composer/ and Arrangers of our day. Since the age of 10 Brownrane performed with a young group called the “Mary J’sâ€. Performing in nursing homes and local backyards around the neighborhood inspired her to write poetry and begin writing songs. In her freshman year in college Brownrane toured with dynamic group of Singers, Mc’s, and Poets called the “Cataclysm†bread out of Hunter College. They went on a college tour performing at Hunter College, La Guardia CC, Lehman College, Baruch College, Cornell University, and many others. Solo performances include Gregory’s in NJ, 5 Spot Soul Food Restaurant Bklyn NY, Remote Lounge NY, Cheetah Club NY, Carmichael’s Underground Jazz Club Queens N.Y and in her very own Debut Concerts. You may have seen her in a Music Video or two. One with an over seas artist from Haiti named “Sweet Mickey†during the Labor Day Celebration of 2000; or opening up for a band “Angels of Rock “ in a live performance taping of MTV, a lead actress in an independent play production called “Corn Bread and Roti†,a dancer and extra onset of the “Wiz†held at La Guardia CC. Not to mention Brownrane has been featured at Perfect Palate New York’s hottest and most talked about wine tasting events of the year “Erotic Wine Tasting Soireeâ€. Brownrane has had the opportunity to work with many talented unsigned artists and production teams. Artists such as Shayna Zaid, Ejyp, Yanni, Rich, and Contemporary gospel artist A.E. Henry. Some of them she wrote songs for. Production teams such as "Ozone†Music Production team mentioned in XXL/ Scratch Magazine (“The most known unknowns†working along side $ha Money of G unit Records), Good o’l Boys, under Ryan Leslie, Singer/Songwriter/Producer of the hot new artist “Cassie†of Next Selection; Diesel Music and Nu Soundz “Alliance†Production team. A few influences compiled in this powerful young woman are Nina Simone, Mary J Blige, Earth Wind and Fire, Whitney Houston, Prince, and Jill Scott.
