Why are you here? Isn't there someplace better you could be?

About Me

I hate Myspace, but I can't bring myself to delete my profile.

My Interests

Cinema, Art, History, Politics, Music, Kung Fu, Dance - alright how many of you wrote down the same thing? Right, we all have the same interests...

I'd like to meet:

Everyone on the entire planet at least just once... well at least as many people as possible.

Music:

Depends on my mood. There are really too many for me to write down. Lately I've been listening to the new Ghostface Killah, Twilight Singers, TV on the Radio, Booka Shade, Ellen Allien, The Rapture, Califone, Fela Kuti, Bloc Party, Trentmoller, and The Velvet Underground. I don't just like one band or style or genre. I like to cross boundaries. I do like to dance though so if I hear a catchy tune then I'll do a jig to it. I generally try to stay away from the overly commercial crap though.

Movies:

A lot. Way too many too list. Luis Bunuel is probably my favorite director. Early Zhang Yimou films are great (before Hollywood got to him). In no particular order, movies by Fritz Lang, F.W. Murneau, Alfred Hitchcock, Francois Truffaut, Kurosawa, Satyajit Ray, Melville, early Francis Ford Coppola, Chen Kage, Fellini, Almodovar, David Lynch, Kubrick, and more. I generally like art, surrealist, fantasy, and political films. I am somewhat of a movie snob and am quite picky. Once in a while I like a really stupid movie, but I should be stoned for that. Sometimes I like those really bad action movies too (well at least I consider them bad). I think those Spider Man movies are pure cheese, but they're fun to watch. Just watched Babel and Flags of Our Father - eh, both were ok but not great. Really liked Pan's Labrynth from last year.

Television:

Not so much, but a few. I work in TV so that's usually more than enough for me. I do like Heroes and I watch quite a bit of baseball when it is on. And you will catch me watching the Discovery channel, PBS, etc. I like to learn.

Books:

Yes, I read, although not as much as I should. I am in the midst of trying to get through a Luis Bunuel autobiography and The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying. And I have about a dozen other books I want to read.

Heroes:

Ordinary people.
