...For The Silent Blind Marching in the Hail!

About Me

MUTED REVOLUTION is an 8-piece band with lots of horns. – Their first EP “Aesthetics of a Cityscape” is decidedly enough a third wave punk/ska album in the most traditional sense. The vocals are fast, the horns are catchy, and the guitar is often found gallivanting on the up-beats and passionately kicking it with the Mohawk-inspired power chords which are so beloved of the genre, in its down time. But as the new year commences so too does Muted Revolution sail forth into uncharted waters rife with un-tamed beasts of metal riffs, actual singing, violin and flute solos, cellos coming out of the wood-work, riding forth into the nuclear-summer tainted sunset – serenaded by frenzied socially-charged lyrics and dark innovative guitar stylings, complete with scratching, pit-inducing break-downs, bass lines that shift shape from jazz to metalcore, and epic ska-core variations on obscure Shostakovich symphonies until its… “Pick it up! Pick it up! Pick it up!” (and/or) “Tear it down! Tear it down! Tear it down!” Bring your zoot-suits, but leave the two tone shoes for combat boots or better yet… Don’t dress up - this is supposed to be a show goddamnit not a costume party…Our influences vary from straight up ska, to punk hardcore, to Miles Davis. Some of us like swing...some of us like metalcore. Most of us like ska and as a result our live show is akin to…Watching that one scene in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory with the boat and the tunnel and…it’s going at warped speed, enveloped in distorted images of geese flying in V formation while after-school special anti-drug ads fly by while… Tyler Durden splices in subliminal messages and a man in a lime green suit stands by…with a monkey and a music box singing“Oh, we bought up their products and bartered for souls/ turned daughters to martyrs for Prada and Gold/ Hung Burberry nooses from every pole/ that once harbored flags for empires of old….”Into a megaphone to a crowd of protesters on the Gaza Strip while Rupert Murdoch sits by in agony, eating his feelings in the form of a Sarah Lee Pie!…But most important of all we're a big happy family that somewhat resembles a group of multi-cultural foster children that should be on the cover of a Unity Day poster holding hands in a circle around a bluish green orb that was finger-painted by a five year old in an honest to god attempt at representing the earth.
