About Me

My name is Francesco-Alessio Ursini, 28, from a small city NE of Rome (L'Aquila aka "caput frigoris"). I didn't want to be a Navy officer, so I decided to try a different path. Hence, I hold a BA in Philosophy (from the local university) and an M.Phil. in Linguistics (Semantics and Language Acquisition, from the almighty UIL-OTS of Utrecht), and I'll soon move again to start a Ph.D. in cognitive sciences (Macquarie, Sidney). I am deeply interested in the architecture of human cognition and the mistery of spatial perception. Since I couldn't be a Space explorer (aka astronaut), I decided to become a scholar of a different type of space. If you are not frowning after this silly comment, I will be glad ;) Aside that, I am a very curious person who doesn't meet the criteria for nerdism due to an extrovert personality, a keen interest in socializing, a decent physical prowess (well, I'm just in good shape, not very nerdy!). Aside my beloved sciences, I also like to read many types of comics/anime/BD, listen to excellent music (contemporary composers, Ambient, Lounge...odd mix, I know) and enjoy slow food culture. I also cultivate side hobbies such as the study of history and politics, in order to be a good and scrupolous citizen. While I'm not up to my former glory, I also like videogames enough to be (in the past) a good arcade player, possibly games by the illustrious Taito (Bubble Bobble ftw!). New Pic, the photo for my work profile. Geekness triumphs supreme!
