I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I've been in San Diego for nearly 9 years now and I'm not plannig on leaving. I've always dreamed of living by the beach even before I ever went to a real one. I grew up in the beautiful Catskill Mountains up the hudson river from NYC swimming in lakes, rivers and streams. I love summer and being in the water. It cools my triple sagittarian soul. My Dad has lived in Las Vegas since I was 9 and I spent many summers in 120 degree heat and I have nearly as much distaste for the heat as I do the snow and cold back east. My Dad is the one who took us to San Diego for Sea World and I finally swam in the ocean here, when I was 12. Some where thereafter I remember discovering west coast surf culture watching late night broadcasts of surfing competitions and Giget and Frankie Avalon movies! Later, I went to Assateague Island off the coast of Maryland at 19. That is one of America's wildest unspoiled beaches where wild ponies roam free and you can pitch a tent right on the beach. I also went to Cape Cod after that a couple times. Compared to here water there is warmer in the summer although colder in the winter. San Diego is still somehow better to me. I have traveled much and the whole West Coast is what i like. East Coast is cool but West is the best. Sorry New York. This city is just big enough for me and has all I need but it's got some small town aspects too which makes it cozy without being claustrophobic like my little hometown.

My Interests

Fitness including Yoga and Pilates-I'm a personal trainer and Yoga Instructor, Bicycling, Surfing-on a board!:P, Running, Dancing, Health and wellness, Cooking, Writing, Art, Photography, Travel, Psycology, Sociology, Alternative Healing, and always-good music & good people.

I'd like to meet:

No irresponsible flaky babies who need a mommy. Mentor or friend I can be but if you can't take care of yourself I certainly don't want to! People that are just real! People say that Claifornia breeds fake people but I think that there are lots of fake people everywhere you go---I'm originally from NY and there are plenty there too. Be yourself.

Music:

Many genres... Rock and Roll in general from old soul and Motown to alternative of today. I listened to a lot of Classic hippie rock in my childhood and teens as I grew up on Bob Dylan and The Grateful Dead, Janis, Hendrix, etc. in Woodstock, NY so guitar rock is in my blood. I am a fan of Jazz too...Coltrane, Old Miles Davis and the like. Old stuff too boring newer jazz too cheesy. House Music in the deeper, funkier jazzy range is my favorite but also breaks, olk skool Drum and Bass and Jungle but I like organic, soulful stuff but really anything that makes me shake my ass is fabulous! Also a fan of Reggae and Alternative rock--some mellow some harder. No whiny gothy music, angry or sad is fine but I hate whiny! Hip Hop is good if it's underground but I have to be in the mood or it has to be fantastic and rythmic.

Movies:

Altered States, Clockwork Orange, Close Encounters, Scarface, The World According to Garp, The Professional, The three old Star Wars, Nighmare on Elm Street, The Omen(One is best), The Adventures of Steve Zissou, Reservior Dogs, Any old Steve Martin or Woody Allen, Clerks, Animal House, Human Traffic, Blow,

My Blog

San Diego is Burning!

I was starting to feel like it was Amageddon...with the landslide on Soledad Mtn and then the water mains bursting in Mission Bay. I was very grateful my wedding wasn't till the 13th. Although it was...
