My life has (So Far) been one helluva ride !
Concieved on 22 November 1963,a date that no American can forget,if you dont know then look it up.
So I am Stu the Occupier,born the illegitimate son of a famous 1950's/60's variety performer (Sorry No Clues).
Dumped at birth,my life from 0 - 7 was spent with many different friends,relatives & strangers.
By the time i was 9 i was looking after myself,which i failed at,when I died in 1973 in a bike accident,i was
brought back to life,after about 30 minutes i was left with brain damage on the right side.I live with permanent pain now,and take so many damn pills i fucking rattle.After this i was never the same person that,perhaps,i should have been.Later I trained to be a chef,i had created over 50 sauces by the time i was 15.But when i returned to London in 1979 i met Paul DiAnno who said i should go and see his band Iron Maiden.Well i went to see them and that changed my life i decided that music would be my life not cooking.Thing is i would never be a great musician and if i had stuck to cooking i would have my own tv series by now,own a resturant and publish recipe books every year - and have a lot of money,well maybe not,i guess i will never know now.
My own musical projects started in 1977 with punk band Jesus Savage & Savages.In 1978 i performed just one song as Elvis in the musical of the same name,a year later after a brief stint in a Rockabilly group i formed the NWOBHM band T.O.O.T.H.with Weapon Kev and Sabbath.
Then My next brush with death came in October 1981 when i was at Wimpy's in Oxford Street London,soon after we were led out by police a bomb went off and one man lost his life.The bomb had been in the men's toilet,where i had been 10 minuets before !
Later i worked as a radio DJ on various Stations including the legendary Radio Caroline ship.After all that i worked as a writer my books have included The Doors,Jimmy Page,
Nirvana,Hawkwind,The Damned,Nwobhm 1979-81 and Punk 1977 Diary. As well as running the Mangled Mind fanzine.Add to that contributions to over 50 other books from Marc Bolan to Krautrock,Paul Weller to the Rolling Stones.Virgin and Guinness music encyclopedias and Record Collectors price guides & magazines.
Then was in the following bands - Confusion,Reptile House,Of Perception,Contagion,Iad Uroborus,Exorium and now as the Occupier.Apart from that i work for Nemhain,best rockin' band you will ever see.
I also like Horror Movies,Sci-Fi Movies.I collect Marx Brothers & Monty Python stuff.I also collect Black Sabbath cover versions (Over 400 so far)and songs that Jimmy Page played on when he was a session guitarist.
Apart from that i do like a Drink,in fact if i had all the money i'd ever spent on drink...I'd spend it on Drink !!
