THERE COMES A TIME WHEN SILENCE IS BETRAYAL.
we must speak.
PEACE NOT WAR
http://www.peace-not-war.org/music/index.php
i hate boring people. and sleazy men. and arrogant people. and ignorant people. and fake people who have no souls. and people who are technically a waste of space and/or flesh. you all know who you are.if you are not one of the aforemention wastes of space and you are witty, artsy, nerdy, fun, entertaining, interesting, engaging, etc. then perhaps i shall speak with you soon! :)
i like trippy music. i like mellow music. i like beautiful music. i like unique voices. distict styles and impressive technique. i like to float to the music i listen to...be transported into the liminal space that the music inhabits.
but i'm no music snob...i rock out to all kinds of shit and i like most of it.
i don't watch alot of movies, but i like movies that i wouldn't be ashamed to categorize under the subheading FILMS. movies can be pretty bad nowadays...i like the lower budget ones, the foreign ones, the philosophical ones, and nicole has gotten me into this terrible love-hate relationship with the frightening ones.
i don't really watch tv...but if i had one i'd watch the daily show, the colbert reoprt, adult swim, and an occassional law and order marathon. and now i am obsessed with LOST. brilliant show. and i love the discovery channel shows...the nova ones on scientific weirdness that will soon be mundane and understood by eight year olds better than adults...fabulous.
how about authors instead...i am such a book freak i could never list all those that have influenced my essential being...
michel foucault, nietzsche, franz kafka, oscar wilde, t.s. elliot, james baldwin, gertrude stein, emily dickinson, virginia woolf, d.h. lawrence, jorge luis borges, jean baudrillard, joe orten, the bronte sisters, lyn hejinian, albert camus, jean-paul satre, john kennedy o'toole, sophocles, jane austen...etc, etc, etc.
my mom. my grandmother.
all those who have stood for something they believe in.
all those who offer a voice for the voiceless.
all those who strive for peace.
all those that work for love.
all those who may not believe in what other's do but will defend to the death their right to do those things.
