About Me

Placid Blue is a band formed of 5 close friends spread from north Houston to far south Houston. Most of whom have known each other for at least 10 years. The band was formed in 2003, although the idea had been floating around for many years before then. Placid Blue's music has been compared to a multitude of sounds, while still managing to maintain a melodic blend of music that pulsates from tranquil to driving. It is this concept that has become their trademark sound. Having an over all humble, and optimistic outlook on life and creation has influenced their music and performances immensely. It has been challenging for PB, existing in a scene dominated by nu-metal and hardcore, but they have persevered, managing to build a devoted following of friends and fans that remain the heart and soul of each and every show.
Placid Blue has been honored to share the stage with such bands as: Reggie and the Full Effect, Cruiserweight, Kemo For Emo, The Wheel Works, Jimamo, The Phlegmatics, Back After Dawn, July Alive, The Ride Home, Useful Information, and many many more...
