About Me

My name is David Marsilia. I guess I'm calling this project Stationery, for now at least! I'm the only one in the band.

My goal is to make art that's honest and idealistic, realist and romantic. This is a work in progress..

If I added you, and you don't know me, I only did so because I thought you seemed cool or interesting, and/or that you might like my music. I don't add people at random, so thanks for stopping by! : )

My multitrack is broken right now, but as soon as I buy a computer I'll try to upload some different trax. ; )

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: David Marsilia.
Live: Me + Julie Tran on bass & guitar
Influences: myself.. specifically--attempts to capture and exploit moments of inspiration, attempts to communicate ideas, reiterating my obsessions, attempts to discover the almost and urge it towards completion, filling out the gaps in what I want to hear, entertaining myself, sometimes pacing in circles, hopefully gradually moving towards something unique and amazing. not caring much about recent musical trends. trying to study those who i think got somewhere, hoping to take it further. seeing where my passions stand or fail in living life, trying to apply the principles i learn to my art as well. trying to get the sounds hitting my ears to match the ones playing in my head all the time and trying to make them sound better. trying to figure out how to use my equipment. trying to develop technical skills and proficiency in my craft. looking for something new and exciting. trying to exalt the cool, the sexy, the heroic, the unapologetic, what works, what makes sense, new solutions, new inventions, familiar too-quickly-discarded ideas that were really onto something, broadening horizons, honest representations of valuable or interesting emotions, experiences, and concepts. tones, melodies, effects, harmonic progressions, gear, romance, experimentation, music, songs.
Sounds Like: I don't know.. Sometimes I love it and sometimes I hate it. It could be so much better.. Will be...

Why does it break? I'm full of new ideas, and eager to explore them, but my mediums have vanished one by one. It's strange. I'm quite dissatisfied lately with everything I've recorded so far. I wa...

I bought a Lexicon processor..

I bought a Lexicon MPX G2 multieffects processor from my friend David, so my next recordings (in about ten years when I figure out how to use it, lol) should be more far out than the ones I've done so...

Finally bought a multitrack.

Well, I've been wanting one for years, and I finally saved up and bought one!  I got a Boss BR-1600CD 16 track recorder with a CD burner.  I'm still figuring out how to use it.  I just ...
