About Me

Shai Specht (A.K.A. Reb Shai) is giving free voice to his creativity. He does not “prescribe” to one Jewish movement or another, and draws insight from all. Rabbi Shai is a Cantor Composer/Storyteller and Educator based in New York City. He specializes in music for children and family education, Kabbalah and Hazanut. Shai has given workshops and performed all over the country. His programs teach the joy of Spirituality through Music, storytelling, Drama and innovative family programs. He also offers a range of services, from spiritual counseling and healing, to teacher workshops and Toddler/caretaker classes. Shai has recorded and produced three children’s albums. He also recorded an exclusive contemporary adult Jewish album (“Ma Tovu – songs for Shabbat”) with Artemis records. His provocative Dance/Club version of the famous Jewish prayer "Avinu Malkeinu," has raised quiet a few eye brows around the world. Shai’s music and storytelling draw upon many influences, but are unique for their energy and appeal to a wide range of audiences, young and old. His understanding proven abilities, and 15 years of experience, lure one in with a sense of intimacy. Shai’s education spans the gamut. Currently, Shai is a Rabbinic student at the Rabbinical Seminary International. He is scheduled to be ordained in June of 2008...♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
