the parking lot across the street closed,
I mean… some business recognized the otherwise
vacant square acre of asphalt was sometimes half filling
with cars so they chained off the entrance,
posted another big permit sign
but when the rock club opened that night
the cars still found a way in near the bottom, off the side street
where the sidewalk angled
into a ramp. Because what the hell
they couldn’t tow everyone.
