I feel bad for kids these days, they grow up in a cocoon of "reality" that is completely unrealistic. Who does society say are the "heroes"? Who does the TV say we should emulate? Millionaires, Models, Actors, Sports figures. Don't you think that we have a few too many tabloid TV shows and magazines that focus solely on the celebrity lifestyle. Are they supposed to make you strive for that kind of life? You would never be happy. I'm glad that I grew up with the understanding that that is not reality. Even with this knowledge, I subconciously hold others up to the beauty standards of Hollywood. Even though the news isn't very newsworthy anymore, just watch the news to see what real people look and act like. You just might see a hero.
