On the Road Again...

About Me

When I'm not on the road touring I live in NYC, where I am pursuing my dream of performing on Broadway. I live with my 85 year old Grandfather, whom I have affectionately dubbed 'Grand Master G.' I love learning new things, and have a slightly odd obsession with Jeopardy! I love cats. They're cute. I like wandering the city. I like adventures. I am extremely lucky to have family & friends who support me no matter what. Without them I'd be lost...it's true. That's my story.

My Interests

wandering new york, black & white photography, kittens, Jeopardy! , tropical islands, cruise ships, watching people on the subways, hockey (Rangers rule), rocking out with Fashizal, singing, acting, writing, spontaneous changes in plans, old movies, cookie monster, roller coasters, the ocean, coney island, roadtrips without maps, the yankees, garage sales, sleeping, watching clouds on stormy days, listening to the rain.

I'd like to meet:

a leprechaun. people who wear velcro sneakers. people with amazing mullets, particularly the rat tail/mullet combo (not everyone can rock that style) anybody who owns a llama. llamas are cool and anyone who owns one is alright in my book. a broadway producer with a pen and a contract for me to sign. bernadette peters. all the kittens and other huggable animals in the world. President Bush so I can glare at him.

Music:

all found on my ipod: aerosmith, beethoven, bryan adams, norah jones, disney music, 311, kate smith, tenacious d, the hippos, the toasters, barbra streisand (yes, barbra streisand), maroon 5, radiohead, lisa loeb, dropkick murphys, flogging molly, the legendary eric clapton, countless show tunes, and the list goes on...pretty random mix, always changing.

Movies:

Disney movies are awesome (particuly Beauty and the Beast). The end. Teen Witch. Muppets Take Manhattan. The Goonies. Harry Potter movies. Mary Poppins. Any Lifetime Original Movie (you know the ones with horrible titles and washed out stars...they give me hope for my career...my favorite of all time is 'Co-Ed Call Girl,' starring Tori Spelling), The Wizard of Oz, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Clueless. Little Miss Sunshine. Most old movies...especially the movie version of "State Fair" and the original "Sabrina."

Television:

October Road (laughing at how atrocious Bryan Greenberg is brings me complete joy)END OF THE LINE, Jeopardy!, The Sopranos, Sex and the City, Friends, Simpsons, Mystery Science Theatre 3000( with the wisecracking robots), Family Guy, Futurama, American Dad, Harvey Birdman. ONE TREE HILL (akin to my love for bad acting/writing/directing found in Lifetime Original Movies, only in a shorter weekly format).

Books:

Gotta go with 'The Giving Tree' and 'Why God Made Kittens,' the first two books I ever owned/read. Charlotte's Web. The Hours. Edith Wharton's Age of Innocence, Kate Chopin's The Awakening; any Augusten Burroughs & David Sedaris; Wicked; Harry Potter series. The Time Traveler's Wife.

Heroes:

My parents, my grandparents (particularly my Grandmother Julia), my cats Princess & Grayboy.

My Blog

"come on with the order, take forever..."

So I had this plan to jot down witty observations of different states, create long winded updates telling of chance encounters, and chronicle this whole crazy experience so that I could look back on i...

It's the most craziest time of the year...

So the usual craziness during this time of year...the throngs of extra people in NYC, scheduling time to go home, gift buying, etc....was made slightly crazier by finding out  that I have be...

Halloween: An Essay

Halloween is my favorite holiday.  At an early age I marveled at being allowed to dress up in costumes and ask perfect strangers for candy...it was like a special day created just for me and my f...
