I used to be in a band called the medics. The Medics were approached by 2 island records execs, Eric Speck, and Rob Stevenson. At the beginning they flat out told me to fire my band and they would give me a bunch of random people and a fat contract. I turned the offer down and made a couple more demos with the group to show them that the band was cool. The 2 execs then told me that my band looked too young and i wasn't cynical enough and declined. Shortly after this, i lost my girlfriend to a 15 year old who looked exactly like me. I started to drink whiskey in the morning and put amphetamines up my nose at all hours of the day. I rapidly became a suicidal mess and because of those tendencies i ended up stuck in St. Vincent's 3rd north psychiatric ward in Westchester for 3 days. After i got out, the medics played a show with Hellogoodbye, RX Bandits, and Envy on the cost (what the flying fuck!?!?!?) and the medics rapidly broke up after. I then decided that i needed a band that had balls. i needed a band with two drummers and that could be adorable and visceral all in one shot. I started Le Rug and with the help of the almighty Joe Ahearn (www.sleepwhendeadnyc.com) we were soon playing all the crazy D.I.Y shows in the city that your mom was allways scared you would get raped or try pot at. We have 2 records out, one (bleenex) is widely available (right on top of this page or on itunes) and the other one (C.R.E.E.P.) is so legit that i dont even have any copies of it anymore, consider it a worth nothing collectable. there you have it.
