click hereCoffee and martial arts. There are few things in the world that are greater than coffee (both the making and drinking of). I have recently been given a wonderful book of coffee recipes. Yum! Although, I must add that I have not yet actually tried any of them. I have been busy practising coffee roasting. Has been very successful so far. mmm, nothing like a coffee that you have made yourself from freshly roasted beans, that you have roasted yourself. You should try it.
This is what I would like to be able to do:This is what I can at the moment:
I LIKE EVERYTHING. Probably my favourite styles would be jazz fusion styles, all types of Latin music and classical.I am currently sorting through my collection of roughly 150GB of mp3's. This is made difficult because a large number of the songs are not labelled with either artist nor song title. Fun fun.Favourite Bands:Inti-Illimani - A Chilean band that has been together for a long time. They primarily do latin styles but sometimes incorporate classical. To date they have released 49 albums (not including live albums or compilations). Over the last 10 years or so, the sound of the band has changed quite a bit with the introduction of a few new memebers and some of the older members have left.Mahavishnu Orchestra - Led by Jazz guitarist John McLaughlin. They do a very unique style of music. They blend styles from around the world and play them with a large string section and rock-type instruments. My favourite song of their's has a duel between an electric guitar and electric violin to a very uncommon time signature.Elizabeth Morris - A wonderful singer from Chile. Occasionally performs with Jose Seves from Inti-Illimani.Antonio Restucci - Another Chilean. Mandolin and guitar played to traditional Chilean rhythms.Los Fabulosos Cadillacs - A ska band from Argentina. They have a wonderful collection of energetic songs that cover a fairly wide range of styles, but mainly ska. Some of the playlist's songs dont work at the moment, I will fix that at some point. If you have any suggestions for songs that I might like, send me a message.
I like comedy and martial arts movies mainly. Although i havent seen nearly enough movies to give myself a good idea.Favourites: Comedy: All the Monty Python movies.Martial Arts: The movies Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer are great in a funny, let's-make-fun-of-martial-arts-movies kinda way. For the martial arts and choreography definatly the Police Story movies with Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung and Yuen Bao. For the movie in its entirety, Hero with Jet Li.Other: I really liked the movies A Beautiful Mind and As Good As It Gets.I have been getting into Peter Seller's movies recently. They are very silly, its great. I think I now have the entire Pink Panther collection.
Red Dwarf. Monty Python. Ripping Yarns... British comedy in general. Futurama. Family Guy. Azumanga Daioh!I just got the last few episodes i needed to complete my Red Dwarf collection. I have been steadily watching them, a few every week or so.
Terry Pratchett, Robert Rankin, Douglas Adams, Robert Asprin... Lots of fantasy/humour kinda stuff, although, recently I have been reading in other areas.A few days ago I started re-reading the Harry Potter series, before reading the new one. I am just starting the new one today, should be finished tomorrow. After this, I am going to re-read a masterpiece of an autobiography called "Shantaram".Only a couple more books until I have the entire Terry Pratchett collection.
Norman Hartnell (Not to be confused with the other Norman Hartnell).
