About Scott
Scott Ashley is an acoustic based pop musician, singer and songwriter from Stoke-on-Trent, who BBC Online feel is "headed for big things". Currently Scott Ashley has just been into the studio to record an acoustic live album, which will be on sale at his tour dates as well as via his successful website, as well as his popular MySpace profile which has over 2700 friends. The last UK tour that Scott Ashley did, in association with MySpace.com was a sellout with every venue having to turn people away and a massive new fanbase who bought every copy of Scott's EP and signed up to his mailing list. A programme of promotional activities including radio, magazines and newspaper coverage as well as considerable web presence has been drawn up to coincide with the new album's release.
Scott Ashley began his musical life as the frontman of various bands in the Stoke-on-Trent area, before moving to study Law at Warwick University. Here he formed The Fire, who shot to immediate success through writing and recording the official world cup anthem for England Supporters Association in 2002. They followed this with many high profile festival appearances and as the support act for a number of top name bands, before splitting for Scott Ashley to concentrate on his burgeoning solo career. In his time with the band, he won numerous songwriting accolades as well as being chosen to represent Great Britain in the Universities Eurovision Song Contest.
Since going solo, Scott Ashley has gone from strength to strength, finding his own unique style of music and image and working with a whole host of producers. The crowning glory came in September 2006 when his first UK tour played to sellout audiences at every date. Since then, he has signed with Cloud Nine Management, and his web presence has been increased with a fansite and a promo team both set up by dedicated supporters. He recently won the award for "Best New MySpace Artist 2006" which was voted for by readers of the popular blogazine The Zapping!
You can catch Scott Ashley live at one of his regular live dates, as well as on his second national tour, due to be announced for February 2007. The acoustic album will be available through his website, as well as at gigs and via ITunes in December 2006. It is advisable to sign up to his official MySpace profile for the most up-to-date news. His songwriting abilities are the envy of his peers. As fellow singer-songwriter Daniel Powter has said, "there wasn't a single song in his set I didn't wish that I'd written myself".
