DJ ACV: The Bio
DJ ACV. Sa-Town's Dirtiest Blend DJ..... Where does he get the nerve to call him self sa-town's 'dirtiest blend dj'. Well if you been following DJ ACV, you know he has earned that title. DJ ACV didn't start off claiming to be number 1. He started like any regular joe and worked his way up to where he is today.
DJ ACV is a 17 year old high school student from San Antonio, Texas, who has made quite a name for himself on the mixtape scene with his blends. He has released 6 Mixtapes in his name and continues to break people off with some of the hottest blends anyone ever heard! So you're probobly wondering, what the hell is "ACV"? Well as long as the name is, it does have meaning. ACV, as one might assume, are his initials. He created the name back in the year 2000 when he first started listining to music and took an intrest in working with it. His passion for music was untouchable. It started out with a cd called "And Then There Was X....". Givin to him by his high school buddy, DJ ACV took this cd, listined and fell in love. He introduced himself to an artist who did have much lyrical talent, but it wasen't the lyrics that opened his eyes to a new life. It was the sound. It was the most amazing thing he'd ever expierenced. He had to harness it and create something of his own. So he started by taking freestyles from mixtapes that artists flowed over and, combinding them with the original song to make an "DJ ACV Remix". His first lil project was when he took Lil Wayne's, "The Suffix" and added the flows to the original songs Lil Wayne had flown over. For example, the first mix he did was he took Lil Wayne's "Move Bitch Flow" and add him into the original song with Ludacris, Mystikal & I-20. It was the beginning of what would soon be catorgized as a 'Problem'. He continued to do these remixes until he discovered instrumentals and acapellas. He'd find random acapellas from artists he liked and add their flow over the beat and make a "DJ ACV Blend". His first blend was Jadakiss flowing with 50 cent over "Poor Lil Rich". He then met DJ Steve-O. The first blend dj he ever met. DJ ACV would post his mixes on a forum called "D12 World" and Steve-O would come in and leave him feedback. Saying hes got good ideas hear, he just needs to work on some things. He then talked to Steve-O for the first time and Steve-O challened him to a blend contest. The song to remix was Missy Ellioitt's "Pass That Dutch". DJ ACV took the song and did his thang and, Steve-O did his thang. Steve-O had easily made a much hotter blend than ACV. So after that, Steve-O took ACV under his wing and guided him into mastering his blending skills. Steve-O didn't challenge ACV to embaress him but because he knew ACV had something. He could see potiential....
A few months later after making more blends, DJ ACV met another blend dj by the name of DJ BadBoySean. Sean and ACV instantly became friends and ACV assisted Sean with his 50 Cent Blendz Tape by gathering acapellas for the tape. ACV had yet to hear a blend from Sean but had much faith that the Blend Dj who resided in Houston, Texas was cooking up a storm. Withing a month the tape was done and Sean Hit ACV with a banger. Bulletproof Soldier. A 50 Cent Blendz Tape. Featuring over 20 blends of the hottest rapper at the time. DJ ACV was amazed and wanted to release something like that. So Sean took ACV under his wing and helped him find his style. ACV never really found his style but rather took notes from Sean and mastered his blending skills some more. So he took 2 months and created his first internet blend tape, Break 'Em Off Blendz Vol. 1. Also known as Unreachable Vol. 1. The tape featured blends from Lil Jon, J-Kwon, Outkast, Ludacris, Akon, Young Buck, Jay-Z, Method Man, Clipse, Fabolous, Jadakiss & Even Ashlee Simpson! It was the beginning of a mixtape series that would become one of the south's dirtiest blend tapes! The tape was on the internet and many people enjoyed it and became fans. Including 1 guy by the name of Bobby. Bobby was also a memeber of the "D12 World" forum and really enjoyed ACV's mixes. He stood in anticipation for the next release. Withing 2 months, Break 'Em Off Blendz Vol. 2 Was released. This time ACV brought blends from LL Cool J, Fat Joe, Pitbull, Eminem, Kanye West, Lil Flip, Mario Winans, Scribe, Petey Pablo, Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri & Ludacris. This tape was a big improvement from Vol. 1. ACV had stepped his game up quite a bit. More fans were gained and ACV quickly went back to make another. Withing 3 months, ACV dropped another bomb on the blends tape game. Break 'Em Off Blendz Vol. 3, Tha Dirty South Edition. ACV focused on his favorite southern rappers with this tape. Including blends from Stat Quo, Slim Thug, Lil Jon, Lil Scrappy, Bone Crusher, YoungBloodZ, Jade Foxx, Birdman & Trick Daddy. ACV had officialy become a "Problem" on the internet blend tip. DJ ACV enjoyed the success of the tape and met another dj by the name of G-Rizzle. Another member of the "D12 World" Forum. G-Rizzle was also a blend dj but had a different style. He Wouldn't just remix a song with another instrumental, he would take different songs, make his own hook and make it original song! ACV loved his style and G-Rizzle admired ACV's style aswell. They soon began the project "Tha Afterlife". This was another internet blend tape and it took only 1 month to finish since it was half the work for each. G-Rizzle was a much faster worker than ACV and finished quickly. G-Rizzle presented blends from 2 Pac, 213, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Sly Boogy & G-Unit. While ACV brought blends from Method Man & Redman, G-Unit, Chingy, Slim Thug, 50 Cent, Keith Murray, Nivea, Twista & 2 Pac. The 2 were a great blend tape duo. After that release, ACV took a break from the blend game and focused on school. But it wasen't long before he was pulled right back when a Southern Hip Hop Giant took intrest in his work....
DJ ACV had always been a big fan of Lil Jon. He loved the crunk music and Loved everything Lil Jon accossiated with. He became a fan of the Ying Yang Twins, Oobie, Chyna Whyte & The Whole BME Click. Another artist Lil Jon worked with was Pitbull. ACV had always loved Pitbull since he first heard Pit's song "That's Nasty" on his local radio station. Soon after he heard Culo, which ACV made a blend of on Break Em Off Vol. 2, And followed the Cuban Rappers career. He also loved the follow up single "Dammit Man". And when Pit dropped his album, M.I.A.M.I., ACV became a huge fan. He started going on websites that were Pitbull accossiated and meeting fans. He learned alot about the Cuban rapper and eventually got the chance to talk to him on one of his websites. When ACV showed Pit his blends, Pit was really feeling the blends and told ACV if he needed any flows, drops or anythang to just hit his boy Al up and he'd get it str8 to him. ACV took advantage of this and withing a week got a drop from the rapper. Soon after, ACV was receveing exclusive flows from the rapper and came up with the idea to release a mixtape. The tape would include Blends, Exclusives And Classics. ACV got many new flows and remixed Pit's 4 hit singles. He then gathered some of his favorite Pitbull classics and was ready to mix the tape. But then Al gave him access to over a 50 unreleased flows and ACV decided to drop the classics and make it an Exclusives/Blends Tape. He knew he'd only have those 4 blendz but these new exclusives would make it up for it. He then requested for the "Dammit Man" acapella. And withing a week, He had gotten it. ACV was so excited about getting this because not many djs had this one and he knew he'd be recognized for his blend. So he cooked up a hot mix by blending the vocals with Ludacris' "Number One Spot", And Slim Thug's "3 Kings". The blend instantly became a hit for ACV. Soon after, ACV gained access to every acapella Pitbull had. He then cut some of the older freestyles on the tape and decided to do a few more blends. He coulda did many more but he wanted to limit himself so he could make more Volumes of this series in the future. So he remixed bout 6 more tracks and got some more exclusive Pitbull songs and made the tape. 305 Movement Volume 1. ACV took it to the next level and printed up 150 copies of the mixtape. He sold em to some local vendors and thru his brand new website www.djacv.com. ACV sold most of his copies and soon after met many more djs and artists who now wanted to work with him. After the tape dropped he took anotherb break to focus on school. It'd be another 4 Months before he dropped again....
In August of 2005, DJ ACV began working on his next installment of the Break 'Em Off Blendz Series. He wasen't sure if he'd follow up with another Dirty south Edition or a West or East Edition. So he decided to just take the songs he liked and remix em. Most of the tracks were dirty south. By Sept. 2005, He had completed the tape and was ready to break his fans off once again. At first he wanted to print the tape up and send it out to websites but he was still unsure how to go bout that and didn't have the money to print up many copies so he decided to release it on the internet. He also sent the tape to Rapmullet.com where it was reviewed. DJ ACV got a pretty good review on the site. Big Chew raved that, "If your really diggin that crunk shit, this is a must cop. Not my cup of tea but I can recognize hot shit regardless. ACV got skills to pay the bills so don't front on the kid. Two & Three beat blends, transistions were cool and unique intro. Throw in some well placed MC Drops and you got yourself Break 'Em Off Blendz Volume 4." After getting such a great review, ACV decided to try and release the tape on websites. He gather money and got himself a professional cover. But after that, it all came down. He didn't have enough money and his brother who originally wanted to invest backed out and he never put it on the mixtape sites. He wasen't upset tho. Because even tho it was just an internet release, He had stepped his game up alot. He was now being played on Dirty South Radio Online. And he was meeting some of his favorite artists who he soon began to work with. It was only a matter of time before he'd meet the right person to take him higher places.....
Back When ACV dropped Vol. 3, he had a met a dj by the name of DJ kNow SKILLz. DJ kNOw SKILLz, know at the time as "No Skills", was an up-n-coming dj who wanted the chance to work with ACV to get his name out more. No Skills had his own label called "In Ya Deck Entertainment". He was very intrested in working with ACV but they never got around to dropping anything back then. After Break 'Em Off Vol. 4, Him and Know Skillz started talking again and Know Skillz wanted to work with him. Know Skillz had come up alot since him and ACV last spoke. He had hustled hard and became very successful in the mixtape game. He was now working with super producer Chops, Magno and many other hot texas rappers. ACV took much intrest in working with Know Skillz and they slowly developed a business relationship. At the time when Know Skillz and ACV began talking, ACV was finishing up Break 'Em Off Blendz Vol. 5. Before he was gonna annoucnce the release, Know Skillz asked if he would send him the tape so he could grade it for him. ACV sent it and Know Skillz told him not to release it. ACV was upset at first because Know Skillz told him that the tape wasen't that great. ACV didn't relize at the time that this wasen't an insult but simply Know Skillz' way of helping ACV become a better dj. He saw potiential in ACV and wanted him to be a successful dj so he took him under his wing and began to teach him how to make his blends that much better. The First Draft of Vol. 5 was never released and ACV began doing mixes with Know Skillz. At first he would do random mixes and show Know Skillz for approval. After a while he started sending in mixes Know Skillz was completely pleased with. Soon after, Know Skillz came at ACV with the idea of following up his Pitbull tape with a 2nd installment. He wanted ACV to do an all blends tape of the Cuban Rapper. He told ACV he'd take care of everything if ACV handed him 65 minutes of the hottest Blends he could do. So ACV quickly went to work. Withing a month, ACV had half the tape done and Know Skillz was luvin it. Half a month later, He had a total of 30 Mixes. Know Skillz said overall the tape was Bangin As Fuck. He now wanted ACV to be patient as he worked on other projects and promoted ACV's tape to his people. ACV patinetly waited for Know Skillz to come at him with exclusive material to work with, including acapellas, original instrumentals & more. ACV took this oppritunity to make even more mixes and quickly replaced half the tape with new mixes. ACV also hit up Pitbull's people to see if he could get pit to once again host the mixtape. Withing a few weeks, the drops were recieved and ACV had it all in the palm of his hand. On October 23rd 2003, thru iap store, DJ Know Skillz & DJ ACV Released "305 Movement Vol. 1.5. (Hosted By Pitbull)"....
