Band Members: I went to my first midi workshop at the age of 13. Blinking buttons and flashing LED’s made my heart rate speed up, which was helped by a terrible crush on my midi teacher. Our sampler at the time was able to sample 20 seconds (!) of audio. The whole array of sequencers, reverbs and synthesizers happily trodded along to the steady pace from our C64 who was planted on top of the lot.At about that time I also frequented this obscure youth club/squat where in the downstairs dungeons they had some “rehearsal rooms” for the local punk celebs. Here I was in my pleated skirt with plats dangling down either side of my head, knocking on each of the fortress like doors, asking a totally perplexed bunch of pierced, leather clad punks in my bell-like soprano “do you need a singer?”One lot was so taken aback that they couldn’t say no and I had found my first band – the Wild Coloured Tunes. We rehearsed once a week and had one gig in total, I learnt a few incredibly useful things and also found out then that I loose my ability to read lyrics off a sheet when I’m stoned...so no more drugs since..:-)
