ABOUT FANDANGLE
Fandangle are an American fronted 7 piece ska punk/core mob hailing from the southern county of Surrey. Formed in 1999 they have been on the scene for many years now and have established themselves as a DIY outfit.
Fandangle can not really be classified into one genre of ska because their are many different influences which are prevelent throughout their songs. Some people have described them as 'Less Than Jake with more of an edge' and others have said they are more 'like MxPx with brass and catchier melodies'.
Breaking into the london scene they scored numerous supports slots at high profile venues for bands such as Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake, Mustard Plug, Big D and the Kids Table, Capdown, The Selecter, The Pietasters, The Toasters, King Prawn, Spunge, Whitmore and many many many more.
ABOUT SHORT WARNING
Short Warning, a technical melodic pop-punk outfit from London and Buckinghamshire with its own exciting sound and style, was formed late 2001, when twin brothers Nick (bass) and Gareth (drums) met singer/guitarist Carl in college. The line-up was finally completed when lead guitarist Calum joined the band in early 2005.
Short Warnings debut album “Safety in Numbers†will be released in early 2007. One of the tracks “Working Title†can be heard on the soundtrack of the soon to be released Extreme Sports Bike DVD “Extended Family†(Brainchild Films). A UK tour is being planned for late February/March with more to follow.
2003 saw Short Warning break out of their local circuit, playing shows up and down the country, before entering a Surrey studio in 2004 for the recording of the three-track “Take Aim†EP. This release not only brought them to the attention of various zines: apart from receiving airplay on London’s XFM radio station, a track was added to the Punktastic Recordings compilation “Unsceneâ€, and Big Cheese magazine gave the band an introducing feature.
“From a band that sounded like it had a ton of potential but hadn’t quite realised it, they’ve come back with a CD that is as promising a UK pop-punk CD since the Fastlane album!I quite hoped this would be good, but I didn’t expect it to be this good.†(Punktastic).
“Having reviewed a Short Warning EP before, this is definitely a step up in class, and could well lead to the band breaking out of the underground scene.†(Mammoth Press)
“Well constructed songs and well mastered†(Punknews)
