About Me

The story so far...

My life just turned upside down. In September 2005, I moved out to Los Angeles to pursue a career in filmmaking. I never had a concrete plan, just a couple of contacts and a resume. First I worked at MGM in the legal files department and yes, it was just as fun as it sounds. Then I left and freelanced as a production assistant. Definitely hard work, especially on jobs where there was no money. But it was worth it for the people I met and it certainly had its fun moments. Then I started working as a non-union extra. You know those people who stand around in the background of your favorite shows and don't say anything? I did that! It was fun, despite a lot of sitting around and doing nothing. Sometimes there was free food. Did I hear someone say bagels and lox for breakfast? After doing that, I went back to work at MGM in the records and archives department. The lunatics were running the asylum and we all had a lot of laughs.

However, rent was a killer (especially at the piece of shit house I shared with three guys from film school) and I knew I couldn't temp/PA forever. I decided (with help from some friends back home) to come back to the Sunshine State and start working on my own projects. What will happen next, nobody knows...

As for Los Angeles, I'll be back.

I'd like to meet:

Let's see. Other than the usual suspects (Lucas, Spielberg, Cameron, Zemeckis), I would like to meet Tina Fey (beauty and brains), Canadian violinist Lara St. John (she's hot and six feet tall - larastjohn.com), author/NPR personality Sarah Vowell (I can't explain it either), and the various Star Trek writers (especially Ron Moore).

In the girl department... someone quirky, smart, different. Someone with a nice smile, who likes me for me and (maybe, just maybe) appreciates my sense of humor. Someone I could have a real conversation with. Of course, being easy on the eyes always helps. :-) I know, it's not the most important thing. And for some reason, I find myself attracted to girls with glasses. (Don't ask.) And every girl I've ever liked has been an anime fan so I might as well throw that in too.

Music:

some Blink 182, Offspring, and Green Day... the film music of Jerry Goldsmith, Danny Elfman, and Elmer Bernstein... the works of Beethoven, Prokofiev, and Shostakovich... more to come (one day, I promise) Which film composer are you? You're Danny Elfman! No one ever thought you'd come as far as you have (or are going to). You have a reputation for being quirky, even weird, but you've proven time and again that you also have the brains and the sensitivity to get through pretty much anything. You've also got a great sense of humor. Snobs dislike you for making it look so easy; everyone else thinks you're cool. You've scored such films as Batman, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Black Beauty, Dolores Claiborne, Men in Black, Good Will Hunting, and Spider-Man. You also wrote the theme from The Simpsons.

The Movie Of Your Life Is A Cult Classic
Quirky, offbeat, and even a little campy - your life appeals to a select few.
