About Me

.. About Us -- Elvie G PR is a full service Public Relations and Marketing firm based in Hollywood, CA specializing in brand development for artists, comedians, actors, athletes, special events, etc. Elvie G PR is committed to heightening the clients name and profile. Solid relationships within the entertainment, advertising, and marketing industries have been an essential part of Elvie G PR’s ability to maximize client visibility.
Elvira Guzman founded Elvie G PR in 2006 because she saw the need for PR and Marketing in urban entertainment. Ms. Guzman hired two of the smartest and most passionate women around her to help her grow her company. These two women, Gaby Jimenez and Erica Cossio have been a great asset to the company and it is because of their help that since its inception Elvie G PR has created an enormous buzz in the industry and in 2007, Elvie G PR grossed over $250,000.00! Not bad for a new company who was founded by a 23 year old Latina from Covina, CA who had just graduated from USC.
In 2008 Elvie G PR is expected to double 2007’s gross! Elvie G PR has just added Musiq Soulchild, Cupid and Taj Stansberry to their client roster and they are currently in meetings with several new clients who are interested in being represented by Elvie G PR.
Elvira Guzmán
When one of Hollywood’s Kings of Comedy entrusts you with his business empire, you know you’re something special. So goes the story of Elvira Guzmán, who began working for Steve Harvey at the young age of 18 while attending USC.
Ms. Guzmán began as an intern for him at 100.3 The Beat, a local radio station and just 3 months after her internship began she was promoted to Assistant Producer of his radio morning show. While working full time for Steve Harvey Ms. Guzman continued taking 18-20 units a semester and went to summer school in order to finish college early. She would wake up at 4am to get to the radio station on time for his morning show and would have classes that ended at 10pm and then she would go to the library to study. Many times she would go straight from the library to the radio station. No one knew how she could do it including Mr. Harvey but she had the drive and the passion to be successful at any cost, even if it was sleep. The way she looked at it was everyone she worked with was far older than her and she felt like she had to catch up and in order to do so she had to work twice as hard as everyone else. She graduated from USC in 2005 with a double major in Political Science and Law in Society.
It has now been seven years that Ms. Guzman has been working for Steve Harvey and within these years she has had several titles including: Executive Producer, Segment Producer, Stage Manager, Stage Producer, Production Manager, Event Coordinator, Chief Web Developer, Assistant Producer and now PR & Marketing Director for Steve Harvey, The Steve Harvey Radio Network and The Steve Harvey Suit Collection. She attained these titles while working on projects through Steve Harvey’s production company NuOpp Inc. for major networks including: BET, MTV, UPN & WB.
While working on building a business empire for Steve Harvey, Elvira Guzmán attained the experience and skills she needed to begin to build her own empire. In 2006, Ms. Guzmán founded Elvie G PR because she felt there was a need for Urban PR and Marketing in entertainment. In addition to representing an array of clients Ms. Guzmán also takes on a crucial role for the renowned Black College Expo Tour which now travels to over 7 major cities. In 2007 Elvie G PR grossed over $250,000.00 and in 2008 they are expected to double that number!
With Ms. Guzman’s rigorous worth ethic successfully running a PR company while continuing to work for Steve Harvey was not enough for her so in November of 2007 she decided to begin two new companies: Universal Talent Connection(UTC) and College Special Events Booking Agency (CSEBA). UTC is dedicated to booking talent for various events including award show after parties, concerts, club events, personal parties, fashion shows etc. CSEBA is dedicated to booking talent for College and University events.
Some people might think she’s a workaholic but as she likes to put it, “when you love what you do it’s not work, it’s a perfect pass time that pays the bills.
Not bad for a former intern tossed headfirst into the entertainment business... Media -- January 2008
Elvira Guzman recently spoke to Sixshot about how she went from being Steve Harvey’s intern to helping him build his empire, why she lied about her age to make it in the PR world, covering-up gay rumors for one of her clients, giving back through the Black College Expo, and her advice for T.I. during his time of legal drama.
