Born on September 10, 1979 Cleveland, Ohio. He was raised in the projects most of his childhood life and grew up with two brothers and a sister; the middle boy of four bad-ass kids disciplined by a very strong single mother. His pops moved to California when he was about five years of age; so his only role model was the n!*gas on the streets and the streets them-selves...
He had a messed up childhood when he was younger because his mother was strung out on dope. But she always took care of business as far as showing her children the real meaning of family values. Plus she always made sure they had a roof over their heads and food to eat. At thirteen years young he moved out to California to live with his dad. And as much as he loved em, he said, I got to admit... that n!g*as got issues. But then again, who doesnt?
Before he came to Cali he didnt listen to a lot of gangsta rap or hip-hop. He didnt listen to too much of anything. The only thing you would probably hear him listening to was E.1999 BONETHUGS-N-HARMONY or TWISTA. What got him listening to Hip Hop was that his father over heard him cursing one day then told him the only time he was allowed to swear was when he was reciting a rap song. So the first thing he did when his father said that to him was went out and bought N.W.A. and DJ Quick. (BLACK PUSSY, ALWAYS TALK ABOUT IT CUZ I LOVE IT; BITCHES GET GROWN UP AND THEN SOME TIMES LET ME RUB IT!)After that his ears (and eyes) opened up to all music. Even to the point to where he wanted to become an MC himself. Rapping became his passion, his dreams and his life. Only problem was he didnt know where or how to start.
He got my first chance to test his skills on POWER 106 when the Baker Boys started hosting a hip-hop roll-call (thats a freestylin contest on the radio). The first time he ever tried he won. As a matter of fact for a month straight, every time he was able to get through he won. Everyone knew him as DIABLO AZUL. He used to win so much that they just started to send him the prizes in the mail before he could even compete for them. Even then he still did not consider himself to be an MC. (A rapper maybe, but not an MC.)
Unfortunately he discovered that he was a natural MC when he went to state prison in Floridas D.O.C. There was only so much he could get into in there and anything that was a challenge became exciting to him. Besides, them n*gg*s sucked and had no since of creativity. he said. All they rapped about was the same ol-shit, every time, every day. MONEY! BIT*H@S! MONEY! H@ES! AND DONT FORGET DRUGS! What about life, death, beliefs, hope and destruction, war, love and hate, childhood, adulthood and so on and so on? So I brought something different to the table.
Soon after his release from prison he moved back to California to pursue his plans and goals in music. Almost giving up because of personal problems, and not being able to find a record label or recording studio that would believe in him; he finally found his place at Big Bully Records. It all started when he was asked to be featured on a song that was recorded at Bar Code Studios. Thats were he met the well known and talented producer Luji the Genie. Still unsure of what was to come of his musical dreams, The Genie then suggested that the two of them record an album together. After a few songs it was a certainty that they were a perfect team. The result of that partnership is the epic album
