My most major interests can be generally categorized as Natural Sciences (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Programming). Besides those, I'm also trying to learn to play the piano... again, I have developed a fascination with some Social Sciences, and so I now love to try to find new ways to interact with people in social events.
I don't really focus on any particular genre as a qualifier for my music taste. There are good and bad artists and tracks in all genres. However, I tend to listen to: Linkin Park, Korn, Staind, Limp Bizkit, The Beatles, Steppenwolf, Black Eyed Peas, Uncle Kracker, Bon Jovi, and a few others. As for the Rap/Hip-Hop genre, it seems that I'm only willing to listen to about 5% of the music from that genre.
This list may be too long to write, and I do not care to spend an inordinate amount of time trying to think of my favorite movies. I have many movies that can be considered my "favorite", and I own most of them on DVD, so I don't have to remember them, I'd only have to go to my collection. But if you must know, I love movies that make you think, like: "The Butterfly Effect", "Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind", "Interstate 60", and a few others. I also like good action movies and comedy movies. I avoid Horror movies like the plague because I see no reason to pay good money to try to find a movie whose only intent is to try to keep you up with nightmares or have you keep looking over your shoulder in nervous anticipation of events that rarely happen outside of Hollywood.
I just recently bought the "Heroes, Season 1" DVDs. I'm a big Star Trek fan, I can't say huge since I don't dress up in Trek outfits nor have I ever attended any of the conventions. I noticed that I would only go to a few select channels: Spike TV, USA, History Channel, Cartoon Network, and NBC.
For those of you who read books, doesn't it get frustrating when you're enjoying a great series and it comes to an end? It's always so difficult finding another series to read as a replacement of the one you finished, so... I have the following books: "The Wheel of Time" series, by Robert Jordan, just waiting for his last book to be released soon. "The Sword of Truth" series, by Terry Goodkind, again waiting for his last book to be released. Many various books by Harry Turtledove, perhaps the best author in the area of alternate history. "The Three Musketeers" and "The Count of Monte Cristo" both by Alexander Dumas. I also have a growing collection of resource books on topics like: programming in C++, C++ .NET, HTML, Java, DirectX, Direct3D, and even books concerning the periodic shifts in our economy and business growth. So yes, I'm a bit of a nerd, but that's ok since all the ladies apparently love us nerds.
Here's to being a nerd again, my heroes are: Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, the Bernoulli brothers, Pascal, Plato, Aristotle, Johanen Kepler, Mesmer, Riemann and a few others. Regrettably, I had to remove Pythagoras from the list. I do also want to include Captain Bart Roberts, even though he was not a scientist because I love his motto in life and coincidentally, we were both born on the same date, just different years.
