This young up and coming band started on 10th Feb 2006.The band may be new but its roots run deep as the band members have been friends since primary school and all have an extensive history of love for music shown by their individual years of playing experience. These years of passion for music has brought the band members together again to form this paranormal band you now know as LOST IN THE SECOND.
Background on the members of the band:
Jack Kaminski (drummer) is a 16 year old with Polish backgrounds and has been playing drums for 5 years (since 2002) Stefano de Siena (bassist) played guitar since grade 7 (2003) but has since changed to bass and has been playing for a year now. Stefano is 16 years old with Italian backgrounds. Kyle Lloyd (guitarist) has been playing guitar for 4 years (since 2003), is 17 years old, born in 1989 and has Zimbabwean backgrounds. All of the above band member do vocals.
How we came about:
Jack started a band with two other members in 2002 named "Sionide". In 2003, the guitarist left the band, this brought about the arrival of Stef who joined the band as a guitarist and vocalist. Later that year the bassist left to join another band leaving Stef and Jack to form an acoustic duo called "Beechnut Thieves". In 2004 whilst the band members were in grade 8 a new member joined the band, which brought about the transition and formation of a new band named "Plan B". . "Plan B" continued for two years, the band members struggled over this time and came to the realisation that the band was not going anywhere. Kyle kept on informing the band members, Jack and Stef that he desperately wanted to be in a band. So in the beginning of 2006, the three got together, had their first band practice on the 10th of Feb and realised that this was the band they were meant to be in after all the many other attempts. “We first called ourselves “Punk-ture Kit" But later changed it to "Lost in the Second" aka "LITS".
How the name (Lost in the Second) came about:
Whilst listening to the art of music one can get lost inside each second of music. Each second of music makes a difference and has its own, precise and defined meaning. It also reminds us not to let a second go by in getting lost in the moment of becoming famous. In other words, we embrace every second and moment with no second to lose in making our band a success and getting to the top. Time is not to be wasted, instead we use every moment that we have that will expose us to the public, leading to the appreciation of our music.
Genre:
We started out as a simple punk band, thus the name "Punk-ture Kit". But later we added more of a rock element into our music. As we progressed, our sound matured to a more emo/rock genre that lead to the name "Lost in the Second". We decided to keep a sense of punk in our music so we collaborated punk, rock and emo to form our own genre called "Purem". This genre came about with our song "Confessions on the Inside".
