As you gently lay me down with my innocent bare chest exposed
I feel the knot with in my soul conceive the rush of anxiety and fear
I know the five sharp needles that will pierce the surface of my heart is near
I can see them sparkle from the corner of my eye like a new shinny car
With all ten puncture wounds I dare not forget the reason being my self inflected pain
The star I place above my heart is a reminder of how much it has been betrayed
How important it is to shield and protect it like a rare precious jewel
Never forgetting the experience of pain so intense it swallows you whole
Remembering the countless nights I fail to slumber and the number of tears I have shed
When I look in the mirror it will be a daily reminder of the pain others have caused
Learning not to give my heart so freely now only having so little left so share.
I shall only open my heart to the one that is willing to catch this shooting star.
