..The streets of Philadelphia are filled with life lessons that artists use to fuel their creativity. These lessons are just part of the reason why the world is looking to Philadelphia as a premiere source of raw hip-hop and R&B talent. Philadelphia is the breeding pool where current starts have risen from. Talents like Bilal, Beanie Segal, Jill Scott and the Roots just to name a few. The city offers its passionate children to the world to share their joys and sorrows from a city that the locals have named the Illadelph.
The ten man crew that goes by the name of the "Big City All-stars" have been performing together for over 5 years. The team consists of Cal Rippin, Big Pesci, Johnny Brasco, Aqua, Skinny Bo, Sincere, J-Schema, RBizzle and Stunt. All born and raised in Philadelphia, these men and their life experiences play out on an almost Shakespearean stage where sex, violence, and money plays the villain. Living hip-hop since a very young age, the All-stars have spent years crafting the street art form of rhyming. Carrying verbal swords of their individual experiences from the cipher to the stage and polishing it within the recording studio, the All-stars have brought the Philly streets to life in vivid color, using real life experiences; the loss of loved ones, a hustler's success stories and the sex that surrounds it all.
The All-star's rhyme style holds its own within hip-hop popular rotation. Each member brings a unique personality to the mix, offerering the listener a varied flow of rhyme styles, delivery and execution. With promising street anthems and contagious hooks on their debut album, "Sex, Money and Murder" Big City Record's premiere hip-hop family is destined to make a musical dent in the industry.
The All-stars are well known on the underground scene, the place where hip-hop credibility has to begin. The group has performed at popular Philadelphia venues like the Khyber, Pontiac Grill, Market East Cabaret and for a corporate sponsored 'Senior Day' event in Syracuse, NY alongside well known veterans like KRS-1, Cool G Rap, Nervona and the Dead Milk Men.
With notepads full of material and fire in their pens, the "Big City All-stars" are now telling their story. A story of life on their streets and in their own way...the Big City way!
