Jenna

Well, my name is Jenna Riggio, Jenna for short. I try and stay true to who I am as an artist, I say TRY because this is sometimes easier said than done. I'm an acoustic singer/songwriter and I've been performing professionally for over 4 years now. Music is my passion, it is my heart, but most importantly, I am coming to find, that is is a GIGANTIC part of who I am. Recently, I've gained new insights into life and am learning from my mistakes, and proudly I may add. Ever since I was 15 and picked up my first guitar, I knew instantly that playing music to people-- no matter if it were to thousands or just a few, is what makes me truly happy. I go to Stetson University and like every other college kid there, I am trying to find out what it is that I want to do with my life. Honestly though, there isn't anything else that I could see myself doing except performing and public speaking, but that's a whole other matter ;0). I want to make a difference in the world. Whether it be through my music or another outlet, I am absolutely determined to improve the quality of peoples' lives. I guess you could say it's always been my 'secret mission' in life. In the meantime though, I'm experimenting with this and that and seeing where life takes me. So far though, it's a pretty cool ride. And with every new life lesson I learn, it gives me the material and the fuel to write a song that reveals truth and changes people.I've won numerous awards including the Singer/Songwriter Association's 2006's Awards for, 'Melodic Song of the Year,' for my original song, 'Different For Me.' Along with that, I won fist place at the Volusia County Fair's Talent Show in 2004. I also won my high school talent show, junior year for performing Sheryl Crow's, 'First Cut is the Deepest.' That was a moment I will never forget. I have also been given the opportunity to play at CBGB'S and THE BITTER END in NYC this past summer which were two wondeful experiences I learned a lot from.Keep in mind, this 'about me' stuff is always under construction and constantly changing with every accomplishment I make as an artist and as an individual. I will tell you one thing that will never change about my music though and that is my honesty. I will never fake it and my music will always speak for me. I will always continue to perform just so long as I can make a difference in people's lives and eventually, maybe even the world. Who knows?
