"Within Us" is SFA FILM's summer feature shot in 2006. The premiere is slated for February 23 - 24, 2007 with DVD distribution to follow. The quality of the production is amazing considering students aren't paid for our work. In fact we have to pay to be on the crew. The production budget, not including payroll for 3 on-set faculty members, was under $10,000. After post-production, music, and distribution, the budget has hit an estimated $30,000. A point of pride is the adult cast which is a rarity in student productions, and the cast was made up of almost all professional actors.
Included in the cast is Hollywood veteran Brad Maule, who played Dr. Tony Jones for 22 years (1984-2006) on ABC's "General Hospital". Brad also co-starred on "7th Heaven" as Ashlee Simpson's father, as well as playing in many more television shows, films, and plays.
Our Line Producer was Dan Murphy, who is also an industry veteran. He has worked on such films as "Interview With a Vampire," "Short Cuts" and "Sidekicks."
"Within Us" stars Derek Johnson, who also conceptualized and directed the film. It was written by Rob Senska and Derek Johnson. Rob also served as the cinematographer. A full crew list might be made available with the approval of the students.
