Amazon Charlie & The Tractors were named Connecticut Artist of the Month, for the month of June. This was determined from a vote-based contest that was held at www.ctlivemusic.com
Amazon Charlie & The Tractors were founded in early November 2006. After an encounter between Guitarist Jeff Nortonen and Drummer Nick Maycock things started to kick into overdrive. Nick suggested to Jeff "We need to start a good ol' Rock n Roll Band". Jeff was in and Nick knew who would fit the other roles. A phone call was made to guitarist Tim Connolly. Jeff, Tim, and Nick had recorded and jammed since 2001. Although nothing serious resulted in that Trio, a musical chemistry was born. They soon discovered their chemistry had not died. The band now needed a bassist. Nick called a friend from High School Rick Finnacario. Rick was still playing the bass and was eager to join forces. Soon after, the band had their 1st practice. It was clear from their first song that the band was a cohesive unit. Tim, Rick, and Nick soon learned that Jeff already lined up a gig for Dec. 2.! The rest is history!Currently Amazon Charlie & The Tractors have roughly 25 songs in their arsenal. Mainly classic rock covers ranging from the Allman Brothers Band, Traffic, The Rolling Stones, Radiohead, Oasis and many more. The band also has roughly 10 original songs.
