Dommy Lee

Born in January 73 in a neat town named Ratibor in the South of Poland. At age of 15 came to Darmstadt/Germany. After I finished the school, I began to study theology, Polish and cultural anthropology. This year I finished my studies. I started making music at the age of 6, but in fact I started with the wrong instrument: the violin, which was pretty annoying for my neighbours, my family including me and even for the animals living in our house. They say, even the rats left our neighbourhood, while I was rehearsing. So, because of the inconvenience I felt and let others feel, I lost any interest in making music for a long time. First at the age of 15 I found the new way to an instrument, a guitar. I played for 10 years in a couple of bands, none of them was successful, not even on a local scale, when I stumbled over a bass at a jam-session. Since then I hadn´t feel the need to find another way to articulate my musical thoughts and feelings. Bass provides for me two things, which are basically music for me: groove and melody. Since than I had many possibilities to play and to rehearse with great musicians and to learn from them. Many of them are members in the bands I play, and I enjoy every gig and rehearsal I share with them. I started to produce my music one year ago, mainly as a stress-relieving-activity while working on my master thesis on polish literature and cultural anthropology.
