Troy Nantais : Vocalist

About Me

Born in Aug, 1967, Troy Nantais grew up in Burlington Ontario where by the time he was in High School immersed himself in creative arts. He was very much involved in theatre and found himself in several lead roles both in school productions and with local theatre groups. Although not a singer at this stage in his life he was always encouraged to do so, to which he always humorously replied,” It’s not in my contract.”

It wasn’t until after he served in the army, that he found himself as the lead singer for a heavy metal basement band that never got off the ground. However this sparked the musical light within him, that was recognized by others earlier in his life and he has continued singing ever since.
Ever hungry for improving his vocal technique, Troy has had the opportunity to study with several vocal coaches over the years. Asked about the variety of vocal coaches Troy replied, “Each one has had some kind of affect on me, in some way, as I believe there is something that can be learned from everyone, and no two coaches express the same technique in the same way.” But of all these coaches the one that has had the most profound influence on Troy has been Mark Baxter.

While his main musical influences are very rock based, he enjoys a wide varied genre of music, from classic rock to adult contemporary.

“The whole purpose of this site is to help showcase my abilities as an artist and use it as a vehicle to help promote myself as a versatile singer.”

Troy Nantais is currently a member of SAC (Songwriters Assoc of Canada).
