About Me

Someone suggested I actually try to sound interesting, so here is a quick get-to-know-interesting-me:
I earned a useless degree in geology and ended up becoming a digital field cartographer. It was fun spending 3 years driving and living all around the country, and England for a couple months, creating those maps your navigation systems use today...but even travel gets old after a while. Despite that, I still love seeing new places - I've been to most of our continental states, France, the UK (England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales), Spain, Italy, Sicily, Croatia, and Israel. I'm fascinated by trees and the natural world, and am now the office manager of one of the borough Forestry divisions for the New York City Dept. of Parks & Recreation, where I get to protect beautiful (and not so beautiful) nature from selfish destructive people. I love walking, hiking, exploring, camping, cooking (and eating, you can see from my pics...), and learning anything about anything, especially history. Other than travel, music brings me some of the greatest pleasure in life. I'd like more excuses to go out and have some fun. I try always to be humble. My friends and family are the most important things to me and I do anything for them. Hmmm... If this is pretentious, let me know. I'm not very good at talking about myself.
"Viciously verbose, funny and kindhearted, obsessively organized, pet-friendly, AND hypoallergenic," says the Snugglebunny Review, December 2006.
The five greatest loves of my life are travel, nature, music, good people, and food&drink - see above, hehehe.
I forget stuff....
There will always be a special place in my heart for Imani Coppola .
My biggest dream is to continue my life in Bolivia, when I get the courage to leave everything I know and am comfortable in.
Someday!...
There's a lot of amazing stuff in the world. We should all take our time, stop and look: there is the most fascinating beauty in the details as well as the overall sight, in everything around us.
I was born with eyebrows one size too large.
I'm obsessed with all things Maya.
Conquistadores are my natural enemy.
I promise never to let freestyle die!
Cheap and deceitful are the worst things someone can be...next to hurtful.
I live to eat, not eat to live. Sorry Ben!
Brandon Bird 's "Bad Day on the High Sea" is my favorite painting.
Misspelt signs crack me up...but not as much as Engrish !
Here's a great site with pictures of places and things in all 5 boros - the Bridge and Tunnel Club . It's great if you want to find local spots to visit, and even has menus! Use their Big Map to explore by neighborhood.
See what people talk about around here, and wonder why:

El Jolgorio - rightclick on the MP3 link and "save target as..." so you can listen. You know you want to!!!

If you're into Afro-Cuban jazz, check out my friend Chile's band Mundoclave . He's got some cool vids and clips of his great sounds. Marvel at his moustache as well and see why we also call him Super Mario.

OK, now visit my cousin Mike 's page! He writes, plays, and sings those songs all himself! I know, that's totally cool.
Listen: if you sign him to a multi-million dollar contract, make sure to tell him Chris sent you and I want a house. It can be a small house, but I want a courtyard in the middle.
