Irij

IRIJ is a one-woman-folk-project. Influenced by traditional folkmusic from the balcans and a bitter laughter somewhere between joy and sorrow, you know. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------ The fascination for the musical legacy of this region, due to my own roots, grew with me within the years. Currently im recording my first Demo. I revive some old and traditional lyrics. IRIJ is mentioned in the Slavic Mythology as the celestial residence of old pagan gods as Perun, Veles and Lada as well as the here and now, the world you can see and touch, the materialistic world and the preliminary phase for the future souls. But my songs (which i recorded myself at home)are not based on that mythological tradition only.
