About Me

I have an open, flexible perspective on life and I love it.
Setting anything in stone is a hindrance to progression.
...stagnation... *gags*
Change is manditory and inevitable. To deny this is to be in a sad state of illusion.
Perspective is a matter of choice and experience more than it is of right and wrong.
I wish more people, including myself, believed in themselves and the power of their thoughts and intentions.
I struggle with organized religion, although I find so many of them beautiful and fascinating.
I support utter openmindedness.
I want to erase, or at least smudge the line between science and spirituality.
I want to erase a lot of lines...
I believe in observation-based decision making.
Some of my friends may think of me as a peace-keeper. I've been called a rock, a stabalizer, a hippie, a nature boy, and an activist. I've been described as gentle, easy to be around, soothing, creative, talanted, adaptable, balanced and well-rounded, but also preppy, silly, crazy, fun-loving, out of control and bizarre. I find diversity and the exchange of opinions to be of utmost beauty and importance. Too few people appreciate the beauty of existence, and especially their own existence. Although some appreciate, but don't even realize that they do. It just shows through in their actions. So... Perhaps I just analyze things too much. But I'm ok with that.
I'm kind of a science dork, but I'm ok with that too. I love reading National Geographic and books that have to do with physics or nature. I also like coffee... lots of it... every day. Mmmmmmmmmm coffee... *starts a pot*
I have some of the best friends to be had!!!
I'm a momma's boy.
As of April of '08: working in the garden center at Home Depot and lovin' it. Living with my beautiful man and our lover Larisa and loving life like you wouldn't believe.Myspace Backgrounds

My Interests

First and formost, I love PASSION for anything in life. Creativity in general. Piano in particular. I love to play and write music. I love conversing about philosophy, spirituality, and the human condition in general - basically anthropology. Environmentalism is pretty important to me and I want to slap all those idiots who say that there's nothing wrong or different with the earth because of human activity. Just go look at the oil refinery half an hour from my house, or the sky on a day that all of the shit coming from it gets trapped against the mountains.
Reading is great. I love reading about science... particularly physics. I also like gymnastics, any form of art, hiking, and rock climbing.

I'd like to meet:

Whoever pops into mylife. I hate that the wrong people are idolized so much.

I guess maybe for good coversation and to show appreciation I'd like to meet any of the unseen, unspoken of leaders in human progression - maybe a leader or innovator in modern medicine, physics, nature preservation, or something of the sort.

Music:

Genre: classical, folk, bluegrass, ethnic/world music, new age, ambient, some techno, anything that sucks me in emotionally and takes you for a ride. Don't like rap, country or heavy metal much.

Groups/Artists/Composers: Postal Service, Death Cab for Cutie, Imogen Heap, Dave Mathews Band, Jem, Ani DiFranco, Iron and Wine, Bob Marly, Ben Harper Jack Johnson, 12 Girls Band, Enya, Josh Groban, Claude Debussy, Sergei Rachmoninoff

Movies:

Waking Life, Garden State, The Green Mile, Interview With a Vampire, Latter Days, House of Flying Daggers and the like, The Parent Trap(the new one), I Heart Huckabees, The Producers, Lord of the Rings (and other good fantasy movies)

Television:

I haven't had TV in my home for AGES, but I know I like the following:

Shows: Nova, Six Feet Under

Channels: Discovery Channel, National Geographic, Travel Channel, Animal Planet, Disney Channel

Books:

Books: The Forgotten Realms series, Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, Mary Shelly's Frankenstein, The Monkey Wrench Gang, Still Life With Woodpecker, Jitterbug Perfume, The Tao of Physics, Conversations With God, Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight

Authors: Edward Abbey, Kalil Gibran, Paul Ferrini, Anne Rice, Christopher Rice, Tom Robbins

Heroes:

My mom - who I feel set a great example of acceptance and unconditional love and is incredibly creative and unnaturally talented - who I aspire to be more like. My Grandpa - who was the most wise and intelligent man I've ever known. Angie - who gets me like nobody else does. Keelie - my evil giraffe, who's always there for me. My "babe" chris - who I relate to on SO many levels and can talk to about ANYTHING.
People who don't listen to what other people say about what they are and aren't capable of.

Funny

Funny how easy it is to ramble on about living for yourself, being independent, and being a self sufficient, proactive, life-perspective-creator when everythings perfectly ok, huh? Lame.
