About Me

Create Shock Text

I started playing drums with some old friends from the high school around 1994 back home in Spain. Cesar Rodriguez and Ignacio Rodríguez -guitars and masterminds of the group- Guillermo Crovetto –vocals- and later Carlos Sanchez -bass. We founded a hard-rock band named Bethlehem. We played our firsts gigs and had great times together. We also recorded a home-made demo. You can check it out here: http://www.jamendo.com/en/artist/bethlehem/
Just after Bethlehem split, Cesar Rodriguez and Carlos Sanchez (previously in Bethlehem), Monica Navarro and myself, invented Hair, a funk-rock band influenced by “long-hair philosophy”. We were together for a short time (1998-2000). I don’t think we even played life a whole concert but recorded a pretty decent demo. Again, you can check it out here: http://www.jamendo.com/en/artist/hair
Also in 1998 I collaborated with ska-reggae band Kerida Pulga, playing percussions along with my friend Viti. I played with them a few gigs, including the First Ska Festival in Granada, and recorded a demo named “Gondwana”. Check the website of my friend Diego Nieto-http://club.telepolis.com/laherrera/fragua.htm- (who played bass in Kerida Pulga). Not sure what’s in there, but I guess you can find a few songs. Also take advantage of your visit to check the music studio La Fragua, managed by Diego.
After that, I quit music for a while only collaborating in a few sporadic projects. I focused on my studies in Biology and got away the pressure of my previous talented band mates Cesar Rodriguez (http://www.myspace.com/cesarfunky) and Carlos Sanchez (http://www.myspace.com/carlesbass) with more professional pretensions than me.
I played percussions in the musical Godspell in 2002.
Unexpectedly, I came back to music (forever I guess) after a conversation with my good friend Paco Hernandez –guitar- and our common acquaintances Pablo Perez –guitar- and Jose Bolivar –vocals and screams, around 2004. After a short period playing with Diego Nieto as a bassist, Agustin Puertas join us and we found Mothers Against Drugs, an exciting band of (as we used to call it) “sweaty” Rock. After that, Monica Navarro and Pilar Lopez, completed the band with impressive bodies and back vocals. With that band I reached the pinnacle of my music adventures. We played a lot and did what we wanted. We played successfully in the best clubs of our home town, Granada. We also reached 5th position in Emergenza Festival. We left the "Charles Bronson Demo": http://www.jamendo.com/en/artist/mothers.against.drugs/

The last time we played together was 19th March of 2006, also my last time on stage I think.
We split and just after, I moved to the States for work. Now I’m looking for a cool band to Rock on here in Athens, GA (1 college music town in the States, according to Rolling Stone magazine).
