When I look at everything around me I see the result of perfect creativity. I live in a beautiful world and I am blessed--blessed to live as a part of the masterpiece that the Master has created--a speck on a huge canvas or a small echo in a huge symphony that exists solely for His praise. Am I worthy to even praise Him? Not on my own, but He has made me worthy through the death of His Son--through the only death that would ever satisfy our need. On my own I am nothing. Without His Word I wander aimlessly, lost and hopeless. But with what I have been given, I will strive to bring Him glory. My Creator inspires all that has been created. His creation inspires my attempt to create. And I strive to bring a sweet sound to His ears. I want to communicate praise to Him in a way that only music can express. I want to try to identify with His creativity. I want people to recognize something familiar in my music. I want them to recognize the source of all creation--our amazing Maker. Music either brings glory to the Father or it does not. It can make an eternal impression or fade forever. I want all music to have meaning. If it does not bring glory to the Master, it is completely useless. Our world is scarred by my sin and the sin of everyone, yet it's still beautiful. So maybe with our lives we can create something beautiful as well.
