SUZY ANTONIA ROBINSON
About Me
Suzy's repertory extends from Mediaeval to Twentieth Century music. She has toured Europe, as part of groups and choirs and as a soloist. She regularly gives recitals in the UK with her trio, I Gemelli.Suzy is an alumna of the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme at Aldeburgh where she studied Purcell’s Faery Queen with conductor Harry Bicket, performing solos in the final concert at the Aldeburgh Festival and participating in master classes with the soprano Yvonne Kenny during the course.Recent performances include a tour with the Schola Pietatis Antonio Vivaldi and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment; recitals at the Handel House Museum with the harpsichordist Bridget Cunningham; and a Mozart Requiem, where Suzy was the soprano soloist, in Bahrain with the Manama Singers.In June 2004, Suzy played the title role in Marianne Dreams, a new opera by Andrew Lowe-Watson, in its world premiere at the Lilian Baylis Theatre at Sadlers Wells.Suzy has recorded Salomé, an opera by Richard and Thomas Allain, in which she played the title role at the premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe.With the countertenor, Michael Harper, she has performed many recitals in the UK, including a performance of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in London with the LGSO. She has recently been seen at the London Old Vic in Old Vic New Voices, a new writing venture by Ian McHugh, directed by Sarah Wooley and Janette Hyde.Suzy is a regular on the London church music circuit.
