I currently live in Colchester half the time as I am studying at the University of Essex where I will soon be a second year Politics degree student. Essex is a very strong place to study this field and I'm hoping my degree will open up some interesting career gateways in journalism or government. My other home is Folkestone in Kent. It would be rubbish if not for some very much appreciated friends and family who consistantly entice me to spend small fortunes on train fares to get down there every break.
I love talking about politics, whether it's theory, history or current events. Over the top discussions about life, the universe and everything also have a steady place in my heart so philosophy doesn't phase me too much. If you're an economist and enjoy it... then I don't want to know you because you're probably really boring. You're always welcome to try and prove me wrong about that though!
I have a passion for music that has expanded a lot recently. I've been playing guitar for a good few years and have a lot of pride in my playing. Since I've got to uni, I've also taken up drums and bass (not drum n' bass!), both of which I intend to stick at and be as good as I can. I really like heavy music. If it's loud, screamy, shredtastic then I'm probably going to like it. I'm an especially big fan of experimental metal that isn't scared to try something new and interesting. On the other hand, I have a real soft spot for acoustic singer/songwriting, jazz and classical guitar. I also play guitar for an experimental metal band called Jura who will be getting about later this year.
I really like watching films because it takes so little effort and I'm quite lazy anyway. At uni, I have access to 10mb broadband and can illegally download as many as I want at quite a pace (although if you're some kind of pig... this is no guarantee that I actually do download any!). Horror films are the best and if it's grusome and gory then I'll probably love it on shock value alone. However recently it is pretty dissapointing to see that many of the new big budget horrors play on this soley and lack any kind of plot and character development. Gangster films are also some of my favourite. I'm sure I've seen all the best ones.
I hardly touch computer games. The only game I have purchased in the last year has been Red Alert 2 for under a fiver from Game. I've played it a couple of times but it has got boring. I do however like the Final Fantasy games very much and if it wouldn't end in me dropping everything else in my life to complete them, I would just play the entire series all the time.

Not much of a reader but Animal Farm, a fair bit of Stephen King and the Narnia books.
A lot of guitarists, especially Dave Murrey from Maiden and non-musician wise I'd say Teej.
