Running, watching movies, avoiding my homework, spending time with friends.
Other humans.
I know this sounds cliche, but I really think in all genres there is good stuff and garbage, and I am into finding the good stuff everywhere, which means on my i-pod you will find Sleater-Kinney, BB King, Bill Monroe, Mos Def, The Rolling Stones and much more.
Where to start. I love movies. Most recently I have been impressed by "The Devil's Miner", a documentary about a child working in the silver mines in Bolivia. I also thoroughly enjoyed "Talledega Nights". I have my high-brow and low-brow favorites!
Scrubs, The Daily Show, Colbert, South Park, the Sunday news shows, the new mini-series on the Discovery Channel about Mt. Everest, and anything Anthony Bourdain touches.
Right now, I am reading things for school that would bore you to tears if I even stated the titles. When I read for myself, though, I love Steinbeck and David Sedaris. After reading "Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail" I have been meaning to read more Hunter S. Thompson, but that got derailed by school. The novel "Bel Canto" was probably the best thing I have read recently.
JFK, FDR, MLK, and all other three initialed famous people. Salvador Allende, more for what he represents than what he actually did. Jon Stewart- history will remember him as this era's Edward R. Murrow, as sad as that sounds.
