I am here for Friends

About Me

Truth is I've only got this page to keep in contact with friends of mine. I still have a slow internet connection (cause I'm cheap) so I don't use it much. I know this space is supposed to be about me, but honestly what do you want to know. I'm many things; travler, soldier, scholar, air pirate (guess which one is fake), and therefore I really can't describe myself in a few simple words. Hmhhh, I hope that doesen't sound too concieted.

My Interests

Create your own Friend Quiz here

I'd like to meet:

Alot of people, woulden't you?

Music:

If it's good music, I like it. Enough said.

Movies:

Too many to count. Top five, or anything else. I love The Godfather, even part three (don't hate, Pachino was still good). Alien still makes me jump even though I've seen it more times than I care to count. Aliens continues to be in my top five (OK, so I lied about not having a top five) as it is still one of (if not the most) intense movies I've ever seen. Jin-Roh was amazing, and is easily one of my favorite movies, animated or not. This list goes on and on, basically if you want to know more just ask me about a movie and I'll tell you if I enjoyed it or not.

Television:

Don't watch alot of TV anymore, there's really not alot on that's any good. The Office crackes me up though, as it paralels my military career up to this point. Battlestar Galactica was a plesant surprise for a guy who grew up watching re-runs of the original (very cheesy) show. They did an excellent job updating it and making it relivant to today's world. I loved Firefly, and I will curse Fox to the end of time for axing such a great show. I can only hope that another network will get smart and pick up the show once they notice the fanbase is growing. Family Guy (dispite being a Fox show) is one of the only comedies that has made me laugh so hard I almost choked (the A-Ha video parody and the vomiting scene in season 4) well done all around.

Books:

The Lathe of Heaven, one of my favorite books by far. If you are a science-fiction fan or just enjoy a good story check it out. I love The Count of Monte Cristo, although I will admit the book is ungodly long. I just finished reading Revenge: A Novel by the amazingly talented Stephen Fry (who continues to impress me with his many talents). An amazing update of Alexender Dumas's story that I mentioned prior. Excellently wrtiten with a cleverness only Fry could pull off. I'm still reading Hyperspace by Dr. Michio Kaku, a facinating study of higher dimensions and how they relate to the universe we live in. I love learning about Quantum Physics, even if it takes me a while to grasp. This subject is just like movies, really. So just ask me about books and I'll give you an answer about them. Furthermore, as an avid amature military historian I can reccomend many books on the subject on request.
