About Me

Married to that hot chick, LisaDu, my number 1. Thus, a family man with 2 step-sons. Tyler and Dylan. We hardly have a moment to breathe, live life to the fullest, packed with activities, friends and family.I believe that life is about accomplishments. It's about doing and experiencing. It's about trying new things, meeting new people, holding dear those things you have and thoroughly enjoying it all. If you're not accomplishing anything in your life, you're already dead.So there.A WORD ABOUT FRIEND REQUESTS: I do not add bands I don't know, companies I don't already do business with, porn pushers, or any random person with whom I have no mutual affiliation nor mutual friends other than Tom. It's nothing personal, but don't expect an "add".

Heroes:

There are very few true heroes in life. There are many folks I admire, seek to emulate and look up to, but true heroes are people who take great personal risk for the sake of others without the want of personal gain. Thus, all the men and women serving in the US Armed Forces get my vote.Otherwise, I admire a large number of people, I like deep thinkers, folks who are passionate about their beliefs (even if they are wrong, heh), and every one of my friends each of whom has character I can learn from.

My Blog

Toward the light.

"Light" has been a theme these past few weekends. We spent the better part of Memorial Day driving around for a new patio umbrella. Shut up. We procrastinated, okay? What should have been a quick run to...

22,000.

Geektech is simply amazing.Having just entered the workforce in 1990, fresh out of college and never having seen a Mac, I dove into the technology with a fervor. That was a time when a 10mb hard drive...

The Return of the Retard

I'm endlessly fascinated by colloquial language, end it's evolution.I'm not talking about catch-phrase language like that found in urban areas. Phrases that evolve as quickly as fashion trends are pai...

Cooperative effort.

So, I was watching a large wake of vultures enjoying lunch at the expense of (I think) a feline. I love the collectivist terms, like a mob of wallaby, a parliament of owl, etc. Watching the feasting c...

Adult adolescents.

Maintaining balance.I was reading Michael Crichton's Next, which is probably one of his worst in terms of a novel. As usual, he examines some of the latest biotechnology and weaves a thriller around i...

The $65,000 question.

You may have heard this story. If you have or have not, indulge me and immerse yourself. You see what looks like a turtle in the road. You go out to help it. It's not a turtle, however, it's a bag. You...

That and $2.00 will get you coffee at Starbucks.

We have a severe case of Daddy-ball.I was watching a pumpkin contest last night. Not a carving contest, or the chunkin-punkin launch-o-rama, but a weigh-in. I thought I'd choke when I saw a 500 pounde...
