About Me

I was born in 1959, but I did not always live on the Cal State Fullerton campus. My place of birth was in a classroom at Sunny Hills High School. I grew over the years and found myself living in a temporary building for awhile and then in the basement of another campus building.
In 1966, I grew to 220,000 square feet when a building with a basement and six floors above ground was built for me. In 1996, I became much larger when an addition of about 188,000 square feet opened. In 1998 I received my name: Paulina June and George Pollak Library.
I like to think of myself as the "heart of the campus." I am often quite busy entertaining visitors. Can you believe that I answer 1,870 reference questions during a typical week? My librarians and helpful staff are always here to serve you!

Library Photos

Music:

I have many CDs, cassettes, and even old vinyl records for you to listen to on the Fourth Floor of my North Wing. Most if not all of the songs you hear in this profile are available in my collection and can be checked out at the AV desk.

Movies:

I have 6,309 films and videos. Most of these are on the Fourth Floor of my North Wing. I even have viewing rooms for you to hang out in and watch movies!

Books:

I have over 1.2 million books in all areas! Most of my books are found on the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Floors of my South Wing. There are also quiet areas on these floors for you to study and take naps. Did you know I can also get books for you from libraries all over the world?
