About Me

Marie Keane began gigging with a blues rock cover band at the age of 17. Having performed in nearly every reputable venue around Dublin since 1999 inlcuding The Sugar Club, The Gaiety, The Village, The RDS, The Bleu Note and Temple Bar Music Centre with various original and soul/funk cover bands - no one can doubt the experience and ability this vocalist has achieved in performance. Marie for the first time began vocal coaching, where her voice really began to fully blossom, under the tutelage of Honor Heffernan, Irelands leading Jazz vocalist.

Marie began working with Eoin Grace (trumpet player and sound engineer) during late 2006. Eoin and Marie have worked together for several years in various bands and decided in the early months of the summer of 2006 to launch this original project - something Marie has wanted for many years!

The first step was taken when four original tracks written by Marie were recorded in her basement with Eoin producing and mixing the EP. The duo worked closely together to arrange the tracks to their full potential and rehearsed a 45 minute set of Maries original songs during that time while putting together a full visual show set to perform. Marie will continue to write and record throughout each year focusing on shows that are mostly interactive and artistic in nature.

This is the initial stage of a well planned musical project. It is worth waiting for its development into a mutli-functional art. Music is an extension of life, allow it unfold in its natural way. Sounds Like:

Marie's vocals eminate elements of artists such as Gemma Hayes and Sheryl Crowe with traces of harmonies in the songs, parallel to those of Lauren Hill. The music is acoustic blues rock with undertones of modern Irish folk moving away from percussive orientated arrangements. Marie's guitar playing is mainly for rythmic value with sparse amounts of lead introduced with the keys adding a classical feel. Eoin's trumpet weaves in and out of the tracks adding to the height of the melodic quality of these songs which is paramount to this unusual style of music.
