About Me

hello."today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed into a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, that there's no such thing as death, life is only a dream and we're the imagination of ourselves - here's tom with the weather" - Bill Hicks
How to make a Carlos
Ingredients:
3 parts friendliness
3 parts arrogance
3 parts energy
Method:
Layer ingredientes in a shot glass. Add a little fitness if desired!
Username:

I'm Carl, some of my friends, and my boss, call me Carlos. So i dunno. I like to listen to music, laugh, drink, eat, sleep, and....run around and scream. My life, like the disorderly mat of hair on my head (and my myspace page), is messy. I kinda like that, but if you've got any tips on what to do with it (the hair or the life!) let me know. I love writing and journalism; while i acknowledge the media can be a pack of shits, it's such an empowering and rewarding thing to be a part of. you know, freedom of expression and creativity and all that artsywhatever stuff. I'd aspire to fit in somewhere between Tintin and Hunter S. Thompson in my career.carl_dickens{at}hotmail.com if you wanna chat. or have i scared you off? :( Myspace Backgrounds | View SlideshowA little taste of the Tool show :D :D :D :D :D

My Interests

ART (music/literature/photography),mates, laughing, scuba diving, girls/women (they amuse/excite/annoy me), drinking, sleeping, travelling, shaming the little G-unit kids who roam the streets, going to Melbourne, passionfruit, money, playing gigs (playing = MONEY), watching gigs, and many other things i have yet to discover.GOT A WEDDING OR FUNCTION? WANT CLASSICAL MUSIC? give us a call :) shameless self-promotion i know, but hey - it is MYspace.I can't stand the oxygen thieves we have to share our society with. You know the ones; who are better than everyone, who never shut up, who need to constantly pick others' faults and such things.

I'd like to meet:

Maynard James Keenan (^), Adam Jones, David Gray, Alex Grey, Homestar Runner (^), Bill Hicks (^ RIP), George Bush *slap* Beethoven, Tintin, Hunter S. Thompson. Thom Yorke. YOU - add me, I don't take the myspace "friends" thing too literally - there are friends, and there are internet friends -thankfully many of mine overlap - and i have better things to do than police who i call my internet "friends" - so yeaahh. who knows, you might just find me to be so awesome that it hurts; if you don't talk to me - hey, your loss. UNLESS of course you're one of those bands-who-isn't-really-a-band-but-you've-got-a-myspace-anywa y-because-that's-the-cool-thing-to-do, or perhaps some scum-sucking advertiser who just wants to use my comment section as a billboard; you are satan's spawn, there is no rationalization for what you do (i think i mentioned the great Bill Hicks ;)...and that is all.

Music:

BASICALLY: anything that I can sing, air-guitar, air-mandolin, air-drum or dance shamelessly to, preferably with meaning, but if not, ok.

Movies:

Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, Forrest Gump, Dirty Harry, Kill Bill (actually love ALL Tarantino) The Matrix(es), Napoleon Dynamite, American Splendor, Lord of the Rings, Supertroopers, Van Wilder (best college movie EVER), Anchorman, The Transporter, Playtime (by Jacques Tati), Sin City, Gangs of New York, yeah that'll do.

Television:

SCRUBS! (V) Chaser's War on Everything (and CNNNN, etc)Adventures of Tintin, Family Guy, Simpsons, Little Britain, Spicks & Specks, anything with David Attenborough, Worst Week of My Life

Books:

Clive Cussler (esp. Atlantis Found), Matthew Reilly, Tom Clancy, Ian Fleming, Mikhail Lermontov, Steven King, many more authors. I plan on reading "The God of Small Things" soon.

Heroes:

-TINTIN.

OK i didn't write this, but as cringe-worthy as it is, i think it's kinda funny. My first job was working in an orange juice factory, but I got canned because I couldn't concentrate. Then I worked in ...

Profile piece on Clayton Bennett; aka MC Requiem

From first appearances, Clayton Bennett is just another student from RMIT's prestigious journalism program; a conscientious young writer in the making. His gangly, slim build and cheeky out-going deme...
