Goober and the Peas were Detroit's finest cowpunk band of the early 1990's. Probably because they were Detroit's only cowpunk band. Goober Miller and the Peas offered the world only two full length albums. The first was 1992's The Complete Works of Goober and the Peas release on Detroit Municipal Records. The second was 1995's The Jet Age Genius of Goober and the Peas, also on Detroit Municipal. Sadly the band broke up in the mid 1990's leaving the world with just under 30 recorded songs. Mr. Miller now leads a wonderful band out of Detroit, Michigan called Blanche.... Also, I didn't want to bring it up, but White Stripe/Raconteur Jack White was the Peas one time drummer under the moniker of Doc Gillis.
